it`s nearly time

The time for getting down to business is fast approaching as is my nervous twitch. Oh the scariness of it all!!

I was just wondering if those of you who talk the talk of greatly improved times ahead for my boys are dinkum, or if it`s more in hope that we hear all of this positive stuff.

Lets face it, to my mind we still have a Claytons forward line and perhaps not the most feared defence in the league, so how`s it gonna happen? Can Ben`s back cope with another year like last year?

I surely hope that you`re right, but I know I`ll be much relieved when the first one is over, maybe you are all correct and I will have wasted a lot of time worrying for nought.

All great teams have had suss forward / half-foward lines whatever until one season they all combine and synergise into a well oiled machine under the guidance of a formidable coaching staff. This equation is not complete without a good mix of younger/older and mid aged players.

Our footy club has all this !!

Guys like merenda, phill matera, haynes, wilson and gardiner will all be goal kicking contibuters this season.

Our list will be as good as any if in the right mindset - and who better than woosha to be planting that seed.

I feel very positive about the WCE this year. A new coach with a POSITIVE outlook that will sort the men from the boys. I see the last 2 years of the Eagles...how can I put this....I imagine a team with a negative coach and a dark cloud over them....This year I see light and determination....

With the change of coach, the players will be playing with passion and pride...JW will have it no other way......

This man is drooling for the season to start....kinda gives me a hard on thinking about it...

Well i feel really positive about the upcoming year. I feel a weight has been lifted off our shoulders with the canning of Judge and fantastic move of bringing Whoosha....it will change the teams mindset like never before and after a good win in round 1 against the Frockers, our season will be set for a good one!

I do just wanna say one thing
We said when Judgey came "with a new coach we can only go up"

With that said, Woosha is no Judgey, he had NEVER had anything to do with the club, and woosha held up both our premiership cups, and is feared/revered and looked up upon at our club, so the players WILL respond.
It also does seem he is more positive.
Now i don't expect miracles this year, all i want and expect is improveent.
I truly believe we have NEARLY all the players we need to be a force again, but they need experience first, so don't expect too much too soon, but gradual improvement until we are once again fighting for a premiership

You're right EKA, we can't expect miracles. Thats why i predict a 7-10 finish this year, definate top 8 in 2003 and top 4 contenders in 2004.

And GB, you should hook up with Buzz, he seems to also harbour homosexual thoughts about the eagles.
