It seems Mansfield and Fletcher have survived the axe

Enough is enough. This is becoming a joke. Both Mansfield and Fletcher have been named in the starting 18 - which means barring a minor miracle, they will both play on Sunday. This is starting to really grate with me and I just cannot understand how these two (especially Mansfield) can be still getting a game.

Where is the reward for these players who performed well last week? : Davies, Pickering and Cranage.

They are plonked onto the extended bench and have to wait another day to see if they survive. Meanwhile Mansfield and Fletcher are given a starting 18 place after ordinary perfomances last week (and for Mansfield, ordinary performances every damn week!). I hope we can look back and laugh at this thread when it becomes apparent that it was only the MC foxing and Fletcher and Mansfield are both dropped. Until then, there are many Carlton fans who are furious about the persistance with players with no future at the club.

Pickering and Davies should've been picked on the ground. I'm bewildered as to what Mansfield is doing to deserve being selected week after week.

Fletcher as well, Franchina is going only ok, I'm not even that sure about Plunkett frankly.

And I tell you what, if f#cking Fevola gets picked in the starting lineup I will absolutely spew blood.

Davies, Pickering and Cranage should definitely play.

Mansfield should never play again. If he must play, put him on the forward line where at least he can't give away goals. His positioning skills, which is about all he has left, might even give him a chance to kick a couple. Miracles can happen.

No tears from me if Franchina and Fletcher were dropped as well.

Must defend Plunkett though, as far as I can see he is getting plenty of the ball whenever Britts lets him on the ground, which is not much.

I agree with Fat Red. If they must play Mansfield, then he should go forward where he will tackle, harass and take a couple of grabs. At least the worst we can expect is a few behinds for us instead of having him back and getting a few goals against us.

Hypercolour's game wasn't as bad as the Hawks game, but it still wasn't great, he still cannot kick the ball and he is still not the long term answer. Time for the match commitee to have the balls to drop him.

IMO, I can't see Carlton making the eight, so they might as well start playing some of the kids to see if they are up to it - before your injured stars come back. What has happened to Merrington & Prentergast? Surely a better option than playing Christou in a key defensive role as he was ordinary. Sporn has looked good in previous games & your no.13 whose name ecapes me (Davies?) looks a good prospect. Also, Campo really shouldn't have played yesterday as the poor guy was playing on 1 leg. Good news is that McKernan has found some form. Also, Whitnall is quality & had a great dual with Smart. Still reckon you will avoid the spoon, but don't leave you run too late!

Christou was a fair selection as he gave Barker a bath the week before. There are 5 or 6 I would have dropped before him (Mansfield, Fletcher, Franchina, Murphy, Manton).

Sporn is injured.
