Rocky in the midfield and Gray forward. Hopefully Marshall comes back and Charlie finds some form. If we play a forward line we have a pulse. There's no perfect teams this year. If we help planets align then we are as good as anyone. Lot's to work on.

Yep. Ken Hinkley is still a terrible coach. We are just blessed we have someone like R.Gray.

It was a ******* epic finish and our 3rd quarter was magic but just watch the first half before you make statements like that Macca.

Thats a bit rough putting it all on Kens shoulders.....at the end of the day youre only as good as the effort your players put into it and quite a few of our losses can be attributed to poor workmanship and lack of skill shown you know the fact that we are already labeling Robbies 5 goal effort to a one off display of skill not likely to be seen again is crap....if he is capable of that kind skill level I want to see it in EVERY game all the other teams with those kind of players expect nothing less of their star players....totally ridiculous to be piling it on Kens shoulders when our players have the equipment to win games even when the odds are against them....Come on PORT pull your bloody socks up and deliver the skills you have every week week in week out.

We got the win we needed. To end the drought against the Crows, in such fashion. Incredible. We've proven we can beat premiership threats now.

Our premiership journey in 2018 starts here. Get on board.

It starts if we learn the lessons from the third quarter that faster movement is the key to everything. And that requires players working for each other to provide options.

We do that, and it will become instinctive, because players will finally see why the coaches keep banging on about cutting into the corridor and playing brave football (within reason...I'm looking at you Chad).

And then there is nothing we cannot accomplish.

Even if we had lost we wouldn't have been out of it at 4-4 after 8 games. It may be a close game and a Showdown but it's still the same as any other 4 points and the players shouldn't buy into this confidence thing. But the real test will be where we are at the end of June. After China we have a bye, Hawthorn in Tassie and then Richmond, Bulldogs and Melbourne at AO. And finish the month off with Carlton at the MCG who, despite their win, still qualify as the dregs of the AFL.

Looking at the fixture over the next 2 or 3 months; if we are a serious football team this year then we should be winning every game between now and the next showdown.

Even for the winning goal pretty sure Neade is the forward leading target.

There is a bit to work on...

... and they had three players on him lol

Given our travel schedule so far if we can go into the bye at 6-3 it’s absolutely game on.

If we go to 6-3, our next 4 games then could really set the season up. Hawthorn in Tassie, then Richmond, the Bulldogs and Melbourne all at home. With 3 of those 4 and we will be well placed.

For Essendon it started with a win against the Crows as well. Just sayin...

Hopefully we get our confidence on a roll and never have to watch ourselves miss targets and goals like that first half for the rest of the year.

We'll see. I'm not getting into bed with that conclusion yet.
It's nothing but a tease at the moment. Like before and before that.
If it looks like coming to fruition, then after the bye we leave Adelaide once in 4 weeks. If you want to talk about stars aligning and bullshit like that, there's something...

Just wonder did it take a bad loss v West Coast. And a kick up the backside from fans and the media to get Port into gear. It can be a game of seconds sometimes. If the Crows had of got up after McGovern's goal. Its probably season over for Port.

We are clearly a confidence side so knowing that we can beat a top 2 side will mean a lot to the group

I wish this could have waited.

Great win and all - but this group could still give us a collective Chinese wet fart next week.

Well aren't you a disgruntled goat. Let me introduce you to someone who could help.

As stoked as I am a somewhat full strength PAFC team beat a fair injury inflicted Crows squad by less than a goal

Let's not jump the gun here.
Rory Sloane fair enough. Brad Crouch debuted with Ollie. Ollie's played over 100 games and Crouch under 40. He"s hardly on the park. Smith has been out for months.Knight and Milera meh. Lever and Cameron don't count as 'outs'.

To me the biggest factor for the rest of the season was Rocky & SPP finally hitting full fitness & form, and to a lesser extent Motlop. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to sustain their last half standard consistently. But they give us a devastating midfield which will trouble every side.

I'm optimistic. We would have lost that game last year. A bit of luck is good for the boys...

Our team has chopped and changed a lot this season and is still settling. We've played scg, Optus and Etihad twice, all the off field dramas. And the worst injury possible - Ryder going down. If we pull into the bye 6-3 we r laughing.

It'll also take half the season before Rocky, Motlop and Watts get a feel for our team.

Our draw couldn't be better after our bye. 8 of 13 at Adelaide Oval - tough teams at home and an opportunity to go at West Coast and the Dons again...

As we r a bit of a confidence team, if we land a few wins in a row- look out.

I'm thinking 10 goal + win in China, and we will see God mode against the Hawks for the first half!

We will be up and down until round 16, then things will click! I doubt we will lose a game after Round 16, watch this space!

Contested ball is still our Achilles

We go plus and we will be very hard to beat.
