Watched this on the weekend after seeing rave reviews everywhere and it had us in bits at times.

It's all about a group of gay friends in London in the 80s and how their group and community in general is wiped out by AIDS. The writing (the guy who did Queer and Folk and Dr Who from 2005 onwards) is the main writer and is largely autobiographical. To think that for a while there gay people were dying and they didn't know what was the actual cause. It must have been terrifying.

Brilliant acting too. Just could have been longer than 5 episodes.

Absolutely fantastic show, and a strong early contender for show of the year.

I agree I wouldn't have minded it being longer, but then that speaks to its quality and how watchable it is. I honestly could've had each episode be a season in itself. Two episodes left me an emotional wreck.

Midway through now.....makes me think of how covid and the way things were done will be looked at in 20-30-40 years
