Its interesting to know that the last player to kick 10 or more goals in a game for Footscray was Simon Beasley, now Im not exactly sure when it was but I do know it was sometime in the late 80's
since then the highest about of goals kicked by a bulldog player is 8 and thats shared by 3 players 1992 danny Delre 1997 James Cook and 2001 Paul Hudson, now its time someone out there in dog land stood up and kicked a shit load of goals, Im pissed off about this and so I had to get it off my chest

Well, the Doggies have been a team of runners in recent times. They play forward of the contest and, when they are on their metal, the midfield and even half-back line seem to chime in with most of the goals.

But I agree. They would do well to get a spearhead. You can't dump everything on Chris Grant. He is better value roaming around Centre Half Forward anyway. Huddo is the quintessential opportunist and has been great for the Dogs. I always had high hopes for James Cook - he had as much talent as he didn't have self-discipline. Pity.

Watch Patrick Wiggins and Patrick Bowden in the twos. Both know how to kick a goal. Bowden in particular is a booming kick - he booted 7 in a Reserves Final last year (for Williamstown).

Or perhaps we should just wheel back Simon Beasley!!

I agree. We could have used him against Collingwood a couple of weeks ago!

Don't speak too soon Grendel.... I've heard Wills trained the house down this week!

In all seriousness, i think the huge bags that we became used to in the 90's (primarily Ablett/ Dunstall/ Lockett) is slowly fading out in football generally, not just at the Bulldogs. Cummings did it a couple of times early last season, but it would be interesting to see other teams' last individual 10 goal haul getter.

With us, I could only really see someone like Johnson, Grant or even Eagleton having a one off day out, but other than that we don't really have the type of player who can kick a bag.... but as WWB mentioned, watch out for Bowden/Wiggins in a couple of seasons.

PS Grendel:- Happy about the news that Dent won his appeal and was included for tomorrow? Be honest, we know you're his number one fan.

PPS: Holland's chances of playing?
