Collingwood offered pick 8.
Due to WCE demanding Collingwood's 3rd pick they have been ripped of severely.
Collingwood failed to give-in (and thank god for that) and the Eagles have been taken to the cleaners.

Strongest man in the league

Able to take big marks and good kick
I think eagles were going to loose out no matter what they did but this is definately not a plus for the eagles.
Gehrig did and still does have the potential win matches on his own.He could be compared to a waterhouse or even i shutter to think kouta a few years back.
Not many players can claim that ability maybe 10 in the league.
Anyway you look at it the eagles fans are going to wish they made him more welcome!!!

In full agreement. Gehrig is far superior to Seira and pick 18.
Too bad WC isnt as pushy in dealings as North is, they might have got something really good for Gehrig I think.

I think your a little harsh on Siera. He is one of the few players who I honestly believe puts in 100% at all times. He is a strong player and takes a good grab.
Having said that, I am very happy with how the trading period is turning out.
You made it pretty clear the other day that there was no way Fraser wanted to play for us!
News that has just come to hand at realfooty says that we have traded Darryl Wakelin, interestingly our vice-captain, back to Port Adelaide in return for the number 4 draft pick.
If this trade is legitimate, we have picked up Gehrig, Lawrence and the number 4 draft pick and given away Sierakowski, D Wakelin and draft picks 18 and 31.
For a team that had to rebuild, we are going the right way about it. Draft picks 1, 2 & 4 provide us with an excellent launching pad for the future.
Now we just need Blighty to sign up and things have fallen into place pretty well. Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling that he may not take the position after all. I hope I am wrong.

Can you believe Port Adelaide have given up the 4th pick for Daryl Wakelin? I think Mark Williams is doing his best to get fired.

Our targeting of Malcolm Blight, a few shrewd trade deals and a stack of money (from somewhere?) has resuled in us become a lot more attractive to perspective players and fortunately Fraser signed up for 4 years.
Siera has got ability and was one of the few players that put in week in, week out. Darryl Wakelin was highly regarded at St Kilda and was our Vice-Captain this year. Both the Wakelin twins are old Port boys and it seemed like they wanted to go home, Port badly need tall defenders and we wanted early draft picks.
Darryl had 1 year left on his contract while Shane is out of contract. Therefore, unless your team pick Shane up in the pre-season draft, he will also most likely return to Port Adelaide.
The Port deal seems win-win for both parties.
Of course, we are relying on realfooty that this trade has taken place at all.

I would rather a player like sierrakowski who gives 100% every game and plays decently than gehrig who plays a briliant game twice a year then gets like 3 possesions for the rest of the year.
So maybe he will do it with the Saints......maybe he is gonna become the worlds best footy player....Good luck too him and I really do wish him well.....but he wasnt doing it at the WCE so he wasnt worth it.......least now will have a couple of million spare cash!

Out of all the saints games i saw this season, sierakowski was the only one who could keep his head high at the end of the season, pikc 18 could be important for the eagles, picking up another good youngster. Remember like the crows, the eagles are rebuilding a old list. MY TIP : eagles in finals 2 years

I think Jod and Eagle Fan have nailed it, the saints were able to threaten the clubs in question that they would pick up the player for nothing in the pre-season draft if a trade wasn't arranged.
West Coast, Brisbane and Carlton sufferred from this.
