Not only is it 1 degree outside (I checked), I have been living in a cold house without heating since Friday.

I got home Friday night, and turned the central heating on. 15 minutes later I realised it was still cold, and then realised that the heating was not working. I think a few certain words were yelled at this point in time.

Not only is the heating not working, I live in a house that was built in about 1880 (well the front room anyway) so it even colder.

Oh, and our fireplaces mock me. As our house is old, we have 5 fireplaces. About 24 months ago, we decided to block the fireplaces so we did not lose heat up the chimney, and so cold air did not get in as we had the central heating. I can just imagine a roaring fire right beside me as I write this, but no. Instead I have a very angry, cold cat glaring at me sitting on a heatvent wondering why no warm air is coming out.

Regards,
One cold and pissed off cats2rise.

PS - Oh yeah, the plumber said he would be around on Tuesday. Does that translate to 2 or 3 weeks?
PPS - Details for the location to send your donations of spare heaters can be found out through a PM.

I'm currently experiencing my second summer in 4 months...however the humidity is a killer. Can almost swim through mid air :o

For a few days...I've been feeling a little homesick lately.

Ever wanted to host playschool? That's what my job is like sometimes :o

Quit your bitching. The front of our house was built in 1854...and guess where my bedroom is? And at the opposite end of the house to the fireplace. And the gas heater.

Just listen to 'The Men's Room' by TISM and you'll feel better.

Last night I had to sleep with 2 pairs of PJ's on, a beanie and about 5 rugs... no heating in my room! freeeeeeeeeezing!

So you leave in a house with no heating, built in the 1800's and is basically a piece of crap, yet you have internet so you can post of Bigfooty.

Can you feel the love?

The front of the house was built in the 1880s. The back of the house was built.. I dunno. Last 30 years. And yes, the heating conked it, and yes I was on bigfooty.

The news is good. The Duct Heating is back on! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Been cold up here too, though not as bad as down there of course. Played footy on Saturday, pissing down rain and by god it was cold, feeling a bit crook now because of it, but hey, we won, so all is good.:D

Alternatively, you could have been outside all day here in Georgia, where it was 36 degrees and about 40% humidity. Yeah, good beer weather I suppose!

It's amazing how few houses have decent heating in Australia - even in Victoria, where it does get pretty cold. Seems like builders/renovators tried to be cheap.

Ahh...isn't Summer grand in the northern hemisphere? :D

Beat this.
1960's house. The whole damn thing has like damp everywhere. And guess who's bedroom A) is boiling in summer and freezing in winter and; B) has damp so bad the room can't get warm?
My room is also at the opposite end of the house to the small electric heater which never really helps.

Suck it up Princess. At least your house ain't damp and freezing all winter long.

I live in a garage.. beat that. :p

Just buy another freaken heater!!! I'm going shopping tomorrow for another one, plus an electric blanket as well.

Living in Perth which is near Launceston airport it was minus 5 the other day at 7am. Sure is a heart starter on those days

I'd kill for a garage. At least I wouldn't melt in summer.

And if you get me a good heater that wont cause an electrical fire, then I will stop b*tching. But til then.

Just use the heater when you're in the room. And remember to switch it off when you leave!

Gawd, Kittenish. You're making this alot harder than it needs to be!
