I'm not suggesting Rayner is as good as Cyril, just that it's a good example of how stats, especially averages over an entire career can be deceiving when it comes to this type of plplayer

Fair enough. Rayner is a solid enough player non deserving of the spud moniker but it's so typical of North to let a player like him off the chain.

Perkins, Byrne-Jones, Motlop, Long, Hayward, Keays , Chandler, Vandermeer and now Rayner have kicked bags... Every. Single. Game.
