Sam Newman made a fool of himself last nite on the Footy Show trying to get some sort of admission from Sheedy that his coaching was sub standard this season. Like the true professional he is, Sheeds didn't let an idiot like Newman rattle him.He simply stuck to the facts.We have lost a lot of games so far,but very narrow losses. We have lost the best Full Forward in the land for the year and games just havn't fallen our way.

The critics should look at our senior bunch and point the finger, not Sheeds.What else more can the bloke do.He has developed Watson into a player who is leading the comp in disposals and is getting better every week.Last year, they all said Jobe was gone.Never to make the grade! But Sheeds knew what he was doing.

Lovett,NathanLM,Hille,Stanton,Dyson. All players who are the part of Sheedy's continuing process of bringing in young blokes and blending them with hard experienced players. In todays West Australian Newspaper that expert on the world it self KEN JUDGE, wrote an entire artical suggesting Sheedy has lost touch with the modern game,just as Newman said.
How many times has this happened to the great man? They write him off every time Essendon heads south on the ladder, why? Because he is unique,he is different.They can't work him out.And when they get sick of praising his outstanding record as a coach, they pounce with their mindless word drool when we are not on top on the ladder.

I'm happy Sheeds is still at the helm,steering our train wreck of a season towards better days at Bomber Land!

The buck stops with Sheedy. There is plenty of infrastructure at the Club to get the Bombers up again, but, not with Sheedy going through the same cycle. He is making too many stupid decisions, such as Zantuck last year, which destabilised the club. Sheedy should have foreshadowed this as being a bad move- how he could prefer Zantuck over Richards is beyond comprehension. His interview last night once again demonstrated how evasive he has become to defend his position. He should bow out with dignity and leave the team in the hands of O'Donnell. There are many bomber supporters out there sick of the same dialogue from Sheedy when we start losing - he always throws out the red herrings to deflect queries about his own deficiencies.

Yer its a touchy subject for all of us bombers.Its like we either love sheeds or your sick of him after 25 years and fans just want something new.I have swapped and changed my opinion over the years about him but lets just see how the rest of the year gos. If we totally fall apart and get belted every week, i'll be worried.But i'v learned not to call for his head too quickly.He has a way of bringing out the best in players when the chips r down.
Speaking of Zantuck, that game last year wen he put him on J. Brown all night at the gabba nearly cost me a new tv set. I was really puzzled why he left him on him all night.Sheeds dose do same strange coaching moves as we all know,but in general he is the best man for the job at the moment.He knows every little thing thats going on at Windy Hill.

hes been coaching for 25 years u hope he knows EVERYTHING going on at windy hill... and how can u say he is the best man for the job.. we havnt seen anyone else coach at essendon so we dont know what the others are like... im a massive fan of sheeds but maybe he isnt the best if we are on the bottom of the ladder.. because maybe if under someone else those 'close' games we lost could of been close ones we won

Fear not:
1).The Worst Australian isn't fit for wrapping up your fish and chips in.
2). Im not convinced Ken Judge can actually read or write, and come to think of it he dribbles alot of shiite on the local commentary.
3). Who the hell is Ken Judge to comment on anyones coaching credentials, if Sheeds has lost it, well at least he had it, not like Judge Dredd.
4). Sheeds is a crazy old bugger whos seen more football than weve had wet dreams, keep the faith because any other club would snap him up, except for Collingwood because they're tossers.

Very hard to argue with Nobby on this. Agree that Sheeds has before turned our fortunes in short time, whilst being under the pump from the media, from other team supporters and from our very own. Has 18 months to do it his way , so lets hope he can do it again as there is no way that he deserves to be sacked. Silly old coot: D
