We have seen the high quality football Carlton is able to play when we have our players fit and our confidence up. We have seen us match it with the best over the last year or so. I for one am not going to dismiss that all together because of a poor month or so.

You can sulk about our poor results, and be negitive about the rest of the year. But personally I would rather keep the hope alive that we can turn it around.

Write our season off if you want, thats your choice. But for me I will get more enjoyment out of our season being positive and hoping we can turn it around.

No you can move on and look to be positive about our next game and our next chance to make amends.

I moved on after the Essendon loss and looked forward to our next game
I moved on after the pathetic 1/4 effort against GWS and looked forward to our next game
I moved on after the St Kilda loss and looked forward to our next game
I moved on after the Adelaide loss and looked forward to our next game
I moved on after the pathetic 1/4 effort against Melbourne and looked forward to our next game

I'll now only move on when the team starts to show some heart

Like I said thats your choice. But being negitive about it doesn't work for me.

We both just have different outlooks and this is going no where so moving on now.

people on here are saying we should see where we are in 4 weeks time after we have played last years 4 prelim teams.
We've been waiting for the last 7 weeks to find what we had in round 3 and you want us to wait another 4 weeks and then see.
In 4 weeks time should we wait another 3 weeks to just see again because maybe everyone might be back from injury.

Head in the sand stuff guys. If we keep waiting the season will be over
I am not saying we should but the fact is the club will

No you can move on and look to be positive about our next game and our next chance to make amends.

But its your life and if you want to sulk, be miserable, sarcastic and condescending then go for it.

Could have left out the second sentence

Only Ratts abandon a sinking ship of fools!.:p

True I could have. Just thought I would make a point of the sarcastic comment towards me.

Anyway im over it now, and am moving on.

Fair point though it probably wasnt needed. But Im not usually one to play the man though just got a bit carried away. Like I said, we obviously just have different outlooks so lets leave it at that.

sounds like married life

We have seen the high quality football Carlton is able to play when we have our players fit and our confidence up.

We had most of our players up, were fit, full of confidence and played a team who was ravaged by injuries and they absolutely smashed us - Essendon.

its not just our players, injuries, coach - we can not win with that game plan.

Agree the Essendon game was disappointing and we were beaten by a more desperate team on the day.

But atm I'm not sure what game plan would make a difference. Without 7 of our best 14 - Murphy, Carrazzo, Henderson, Waite, Kreuzer, Laidler and Duigan, and now Scotland - I think it would be pretty hard to execute any game plan effectively.

Quality OP Wookie :thumbsu:

Its true what they say, a week is a long time in football. 7 Weeks is an eternity.

After round 3 everyone was talking up our depth, how dangerous we were and the improvement of alot of players on our list..... how quickly that has all changed.

Fact is we still have the same list as 7 weeks ago but it has just been destroyed by injuries.

Impossible to cover for the injuries we have had so far. Combine that with the lack of confidence we are playing with and no wonder the results.

It is still absolutely possible to turn our season around. FFS we are only 2 games out of the top 4.

Cant beleive how many posters here are throwing the baby out with the bath water. Its round 11, we have a hell of a lot of work to do to save our year but its still possible.

Good post. Anyone who thinks the injuries haven't had not only a material effect on the team but also a mental one are dreaming.

There is not one side in the comp that could cover the injuries to key personal that we've had and still produce wins every week.

Ratts is as good as gone and it's long overdue.

We should have equalled or exceeded our results from the last few years with our high draft picks alone. As far as I'm concerned, our list should have been strong enough to make finals and win at least one even with a potato as a coach. If we are serious about success with our current list then we need to get some new leadership ASAP.

I do feel for Ratts. I don't doubt he's trying his hardest, but just because you were a great player, doesn't mean you'll be a great coach. I think he's been given a fair go, but we should have seen more from this group by now and I think a shake-up needs to happen sooner rather than later.

you could always start a new Sack Ratts thread. Not sure if it has been done before!

Launch the life rafts guys time is running out. Now outside the 8 and only team we could knock out would be the saints who owned us. Potentially women and children should line up.

We simply must win one of our next three.

My feeling is concede vs west coast give Judd and kruz two weeks off and go all out for the hawks and pies.

If we have learnt anything from this season - this wouldn't be it. Essendon kick started their season against us when many were saying they should 'concede'. If Judd and Kruz aren't right then I hope the medical staff win out, but we've got good form at Subi, and playing a side who've been injury hit as badly as we have. I'd rather we threw the kitchen sink at the Eagles.

Ok let's keep playing kruz on one leg cool

We got real cute resting players against GWS in R6 ffs so they would be cherry ripe and how did that work out.

Forget about conceding or thinking we can manufacture form by resting players - we showed some form against Geelong and need to continue and go all out against WCE.

This!!! I hope we gained a bit of self belief from Fridays game, if we can take this into Thursdays game no reason we can't knock them off.
