My favourite bit was the part where he referenced Watson as a flanker, implying it affects his ability to be a forward coach. **** me. This footy coaching caper sounds so simple.
Would think Carey has more to offer a KP than Watson TBH when it comes to positioning.
John Law was our ruck coach years ago.....

My favourite part was this,
Just a day after his exquisite six-goal haul last year Carey said Daw would never get to 50 games and this year he devoted a large slab of a newspaper article to point out Daw’s weaknesses.
“We all know that Daw is a work in progress, but how long should you persist with a guy who is returning poor numbers?’’ Carey asked.

I don't believe I've ever heard a commentator announce player 'x' won't make it.

Carey is a mercenary in coaching terms.

he consults.

he doesn't coach.

A mentor is someone who is as invested in the mentee's progression as the mentee is at getting better.

Carey is not that person. I get the feeling that it comes to the $$$
Actually, what was referred to is 'coaching'. It's about asking questions that helps the person being coached realise what they already know, and to also help them 'learn to learn'. A mentor passes on advice. Regardless, I agree that Carey isn't invested (in anyone/anything else other than himself). Twas always thus, and always thus will be.

Carey just said that Ralph is off his ******* tree. Not in as many words though.

Basically just said that he won't approach NMFC because it's a business, not looking to step on toes etc, but if anyone called him he would do it.

Also rubbished the part about Scott & him having a falling out. Said that he hardly knows Brad Scott, never ever exchanged bad words.

Heard him make a good point. Why are people like Bassett a forward coach? He never played their and has destroyed Carlisle when he plays forward. They have the most dysfunctional forward line in the comp and a bloke with no idea trying to fix it.

No wonder essendon players are going out side the club.
