Rip off of the undertaker from WWE

Most sports writers, including the good ones, end up telling you stuff that you already know. Jay Croucher has that rare quality of dissecting complexity in such an easily understandable way that when you've finished his articles, you wonder why you didn't see it that way in the first place. Richmond are indeed a scary phenomenon for the remaining 17 Clubs. We have nowhere near peaked. The future is continuous improvement and the ride will be exhilarating.

Thanks for posting those articles....

After reading them, there are some pertinent points that definitely relate to how our recruiting and management has been developing, specifically this little quote from the 2nd article....

"mentioned Patriots undrafted sleeper Jakobi Meyers as an example of their typical value pickup: “I thought he was going to be a fourth-round pick when we invited him [to the Senior Bowl]. I was shocked he didn’t get picked,” Nagy said. “But he’s so crafty. He finds the angles. He moves through traffic really well."

Almost sums up what happened with Stack and Pickett this year.

I, for one, would be gobsmacked if we are not 'taking a leaf' out of the Patriots book. They have been the most successful team over the last 20 years, maybe a little bit of education for Dimma was organised during his trip to the U.S. after 2016. Cos I see a lot of similarities in how the Tigers organisation is run now and since that epiphone.

Thanks mate I was driving when I posted the link
Cheers ST, did not want to steal your thunder with the link, it was just too good a piece to be buried away in another thread. Thought it deserved it's own thread for all Tiger heads to read such a great 2019 GF write up! :thumbsu: :heart::thumbsu:

We do occasionally agree:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

He writes well. Short sentences can be powerful things, like Dusty on a burst.

Too many footy writers fall too easily for too many words. They fall for too many possessions as well. Less is more is the Punt Road way. It's simple and it works.

A goal only takes one kick. Saving a goal takes none at all. Fifty disposals by one player are worth nothing in a loss. Fifteen disposals could be better.

Daniel Rioli is a fifteen-disposal player. With him on your side, who needs Lachie Neale?

Writing an article should be like the way Pickett plays. Find a groove and stick to it. Spin a bit, here and there, but always remember it isn't about you. The footy does the tricks. You're just there for the ride.

Even when you're clearly better than that.

Well posted, you just cannot beat a good story! Cheers...

Listened too the daisy Pearce monotone yesterday on sen , they need to get her to a speaking coach, it’s like scratching nails on a blackboard, no inflections, no change, just monotone

The Hemingway approach. Reading his stories have you thinking anyone can do this. Then you try and you understand just how good he is.
