Can't help but feel Tanner is gone at the end of the year, not even close to selection according to the boss.

He's only just switched to being forward at the start of this season. They have said he's not ready yet. He just needs to show some continual improvement in WAFL and he could get an upgrade this season. If that happens I doubt they'll delist him. Tomorrow will be a good test for our three young tall forwards. Have a feeling the intention is to wait until Apeness is ready rather than switch in Tanner only to switch him out a couple of weeks later. Can't help but feel Tanner is gone at the end of the year, not even close to selection according to the boss.

We are miles under the cap. Among other things we have extra payments for the veterans allowance for Johnson. Mundy, Sandy and Pav. We have also planned for and not landed a top free agent recruit. Not sure, but could be salary cap issues? or planning .. If they weren't planning on upgrading and now want to ... ????
Also they have to manage the players on match payments, which are probably the young guns that are playing now.
Unless these payments don't count against the cap..
If we play too many "extra payment players" will that put us over the cap?
???? Anyway I was thinking about this a few games ago and wondered what might happen..
He attributed that comment to Peter Sumich.

When was all this said about Tanner by Sumich/Lyon?
C
Cheers for that.
Wow. You'd be crushed if you were Tanner watching that. Hope he can channel that into a big performance at Peel tomorrow.
