It's that horrible clash jumper's fault...

Wait, shouldn't Carlton have been wearing their clash jumper vs. Collingwood? Why did they get away with just white shorts? I thought that Collingwood's home jumper was considered predominantly black, and given that navy blue is dark, Carlton should be wearing the light blue one.

It's ridiculous that the AFL finally gets their way and forces Essendon to wear a clash jumper, but the end result is that their uniform is even more difficult to distinguish from St Kilda (from a distance) than their traditional black/red jumper and white shorts.

The AFL are a bunch of muppets. Does anyone remember when the idiots had the umpires wear pink shirts and socks with blue shorts, exactly the same outfit that Melbourne wore for the evening. Or how about the time Geelong wore their all navy blue "away" jumpers in a game against Carlton?

Sorry to go against the grain but i like it.. and even better with white shorts.. bit like a newly painted room, if you love the colour straight off you probably tire of it quick

Interestingly when I saw the outfit last week I nearly threw up, this week I didn't even notice until one of the commentators mentioned it.

So white shorts get the thumbs up from me:thumbsu:

White shorts with the grey looked oddly good I thought.

I noticed that it also seemed to help the players when spotting targets. Though I couldnt say whether the amount of kicking to opposition players vs. St.Kilda was due to the neutrality/lack of visibility grey provides, or because we just had a terrible game. Hopefully the latter, we wouldnt want every game in the full grey kit to be a disaster.

White shorts made it a little better/bearable, but against the saints white won't work.
So with the current clash guernsey we either rotate shorts (red for the saints)
or we ditch it for 2013 & lobby for an inverted strip in the off season (f#ck off AFL & admit you're wrong)

After last weeks game I was saying to others up close the jumper itself looked good, but with the shorts and socks from afar looked seriously ordinary.

With white shorts it made all the difference and allowed the jumper to stand out. It looked great. Banish the grey/silver shorts forever please.
