Can someone just give me a precis on this, as I haven't heard anything about it.
apparently (i'm going by what i've read here), Roo is garnering support from his contacts to challenge the board with the hope of a full takeover of it

please note - don't take my word as gospel. i could very well have misinterpreted what i've read here

I find this interesting because chappy stated that the constitution was being written to protect the incumbents from exactly this occurrence. What I'm not sure about is whether the license handover and constitution have been finalised. Make no mistake, despite what our dear leaders say, our current decision makers are not well regarded at afl house. My conspiracy theory is that the afl are holding off on approval of our license and constitution because they don't want the current board to empower themselves into eternity.

Of course, the constitution could be finalised and I'm just a typical crack-pot with no idea.

It's an interesting theory. It's so hard to get a reading on what the AFL actually think of our management. We hear from them all the time about how they have total faith in Trigg and co, but then slap us with sanctions that match or outweigh those given for worse indiscretions by other clubs, and later say we weren't co-operative.

We almost never hear public dissent for the AFL from anyone associated with the club, which annoys many of our supporters. Perhaps they're bigger agitators than we think?

I reckon we were questioned specifically by the AFL when the media started mentioning the deal and Trigg gave them a categorical denial that there was anything untoward in Tippett's contract... which we know is technically true but obviously deceptive and misleading. This is why Demetriou labelled us dishonest.

I know we hear from our guys stating how well respected they are but I'm not sure I have heard that direct from the afl since triggate.

I'd think that's exactly the case.

Denying everything until the very last minute, when you've been caught out, stone cold, is hardly co-operating.

well if you have read it here, then I doubt there is much truth in it.
The fact that Rooch is running with it pleases me, regardless of it's truth

When is the one and only time a Board worries about rewriting constitutions and protecting itself?

When it knows it is under threat.

Good times. :thumbsu:

This sounds awesome and will make a great headline for Michelangelo to steal, but #roodetat isn't exactly Twitter friendly...

Is this what a roode tat looks like?

I'm very afraid that if mark Ricciuto A) doesn't challenge and B) his challenge doesn't get up - we could be stuck with these clowns until our membership decreases well below 30,000.

They will know they have beaten the greatest player we have has and will feel very invincible to the point they will just do whatever they like.
