Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

We think we're still in an amateur competition, where you act in good faith and take words at face value; that isn't the case anymore - our admin need to grow up and start acting like professionals.

After the Tippett mess, how the hell could we not have got this in writing. If its true then it shows the guys in charge have no idea and need to be put out to pasture immediately.

the only thing we put in writing is the dodgy deals ;)

My opinion ......Trigg not to blame for this, that said the club cannot continue to keep getting hit out of the park for 6, irrespective of whose fault ...it's just a poor image of the club.

We have to start getting some off-field wins .......IMO Port are all over us & we're being reactive

And what difference would it had made had we got it "in writing"?

The SANFL would still have rescinded the decision after the media led backlash.
the difference is that we would have acted in a proper business like manner including documenting everything so that the sanfl cannot deny they were unaware of all details

So now we have to ensure that another organisation's internal controls are up to scratch?

When the head of an organisation gives you the ok and then publicly applauds the decision upon release this is not good enough?

it's not good enough as we conveniently forgot to mention the marketing of the jumpers. Amateur hour!

Understand your point but wonder what part makes him even better than teacher.

A . -- Walking on a hot coals burning feet

B. -- Knowledge being a retired footballer living in french countryside.

C -- Failed attempt to be politician

D -- Being head man for charity group due to his football profile.

E -- Or his great effort in front of media and push behind uniform fiasco.

But right he has not cost the club thousands of dollars , tarnished their name badly or lost valuable draft picks etc yet.

Of course it's his fault, he misread the backlash, the club didn't even ask one past player and he didn't get it in writing, nor did he tell Wicker we were going to sell it to members to name

I act as the CEO for an organisation probably 2/3 the size of the Crows.

I would have assumed I would have been fired for a number of things that Trigg has done over the last three years, but not for the fact that a supplier renegs on a public commitment.

I like smarty and I'm glad he said what he said re: Jumper.
But... you could say that did cost the club potential thousands of dollars.. ;)

But Whicker stood there like a Cheshire Cat at the unveiling of the jumper at the Adelaide Oval. You think he was unaware of the names on the guernsey? You don't think the AFC gave Leigh a quick squizz before the unveiling? You don't think Leigh might have seen the guensey and said "It looks great guys, but what are all these names doing on here?"

Good point Papa G.

But they'll turtle up and protect each other.

You did leave out where he worked for Toyota while he was still playing.

People who are saying we didn't need it in writing becasue the SANFL publicly said we were OK to use it are missing the point entirely.

You do these things in writing so there can be no confusion / misunderstanding on what was said. For example the SANFL say they had no idea about selling the names to members, sounds like they assumed it was past SOO players names going on the jumper.

Therefore they can break this verbal contract quite easily as they did not agree to how we were going to use it.

But a written contract detailing exactly how we were going to use it puts the SANFL in a very difficult position, yes they can break it but the potential is there for damages.

Even despite all that when using someone elses IP for marketing GET IT IN WRITING. Yes, it is different to Tippettgate but it still goes to show how amateurish we conduct ourselves. Different "problem", same clowns in charge.

If you don't mind me for asking, if your organisation wanted to sell a product that another organisation owned the rights to would you get that in writing before you advertised them for sale on your website?

It is not a case where the "supplier" renegs, the supplier wasn't aware we were going to sell off space on the jumper to members for a hefty price. That is why you put it in writing so there can be no confusion what is happening.

Even if Steven Trigg had the agreement in writing, it still wouldn't actually change a thing. I very much doubt he could have gone to the SANFL and said - we will be wearing this jumper irrespective of what you say. We have it in writing so we will do as we please. It's about having a peaceful working relationship with our owners.

However, I still don't believe we would be wearing the jumper as the club has said it listened to the people talk on Thursday and were already in the process of calling a board meeting to discuss removing the jumper. IIRC, Trigg said that on his 5AA radio interview.

Look, we need a new CEO that can implement a new strategic direction for club promotion. membership and independence but we can not pin this on Trigg.

I think we're asking too much from an organisation that only generates ~$40m in revenue a year.

Disaster if Smart was appointed after Trigg. We really need someone with business acumen at the helm. Chapman's resume speaks for itself but he seems too tied up in the boys club culture.

Where is the (best) option for wanting neither Smart or Trigg...

Sure there are plenty of quality CEO candidates outside AFC!
