Enoughs enough president Hart. You have to be apart of the clean out as well. The business and sponsorship endevours have been appreciated and it's all great we are a viable club financially, but we need to get this maiden premiership. You've had you're turn. Time for fresh leadership.

What do we expect a new president to do differently that would win us a flag?

The only direct control I can think of that they have in that area is appointing the coach.

Let me put it this way. Obviously we are going to sweep through the list more and attempt to finish the cutting away of hacks and dead wood come season's end.
We appointed a new CEO year, which could be seen as a rebuild of the executive arm of the club. Why shouldn't we consider cleaning out that side as well...???
What about Ben Allen for president as a suggestion, or anyone worthy of assuming that mantle for the club anyone can suggest...

In some ways Rick's done ok. The finances are sound. The coach and the CEO look the goods for the long term.

But the guy never impresses when I hear him. I think he could step down soon and have a pretty good epithaph all things considered. I think we need a hard arse that sets the tone for the club and compliments what Harves is trying to set up.

This isn't a reaction to last nights debacle or our current position on the ladder. I'm sure I heard that a new President is being considered this year in any case.

He's stepping down you plonkers. His term is up and he has said he will stand again only if they can't find a suitable replacement. He is a WAFC appointment and only they can axe him. I would prefer uncle Rick who bleeds purple rather than some WAFC appointed WC wannabee who will put us back even further.

I think that we should have him step down to a lower role/create a new position for him where he is responsible for sponsorship and nothing else. Still get a new president but for the time being keep getting some good sponsorships.

New sponsors will come when you start winning. At the current point in time its the culture of the club that seriously needs changing and I think its fair of you guys to call for Rick Harts head. To me hes used Fremantle as a step ladder to his own private success and his conflict of interest with his business being one of the main sponsors of the club is not healthy. Not to mention the people hes been instrumental in signing to the club and how poor they've actually been to your on field success. The other main thing is that Ricks job is done. Your clubs very successful financially with great sponsorship and has a large and loyal support base now its time to set your sights on more success. Ultimately thats where a club turns from being one to make up the numbers into real contenders. I would think your rock bottom current status is an oppurtunity to turn things around to a point not seen before at Fremantle. When Connolly was coach your club was afraid to mention finals, where as a lot of others talk that as their realistic goal every year. Just look at us, any supporter would have told you we didn't really have a chance this year but if you told Woosha that he'd tell you to get lost. If I was at Freo I'd be looking from top to bottom because the players make up only a small amount when it comes to the clubs culture even in regards to on field success.

I agree with the conflict of interest part. He doesn't own his stores anymore, but stayed on for the "goodwill" factor. But everyone who's been in there knows that most of the high end stuff is too expensive against it's competitors.

Thankfully his reign ends this year. And I wouldn't be surprised if Alan Carpenter's name is mentioned as a replacement.

You know what, I wouldnt be surprised either and to be honest it wouldnt be a bad appointment.

Thanks to Rick though for what he has brought to the club, hasnt done a lot wrong but as they say a change is as good as a holiday.

Any particular reason why, or is it just a hunch?

Should ask Wayne Barber.

Successful in property in the southern suburbs.

No idea if he is a Freo fan or not.

BUT, in the first day, he'd be able to break just about all of the records in the gym and put everyone to shame; beat all of the coaching staff and board at chess; and know what drugs to get everyone on.

I think a lot of people forget that big Rick arrived at Freo when we were a complete and diabolical mess on and off the field. Bottom of the ladder (not much has changed in that regard!) and about 3 million bucks in debt. If nothing else he and Schwabby turned us right around off field to a point where we are in top 5 for memeberships and for facilities and bucks in the bank. He deserves a heap of credit for this
If we are going to replace big Rick then how bout this for a short list:
1. Brad Hardie
2. Brad Hardie
3. Brad Hardie
Any thoughts on those 3 candidates?
