After all this crap of richmond trading picks 2, 18 for mitch morton and then taking judd in the psd i say fine, go right ahead. Then watch carlton trade pick 3 and josh kennedy to west coast for judd.....after all it's an offer the eagles can't refuse. They get picks 2, 3, 18 and josh kennedy and if it helps im happy to throw in pick 20 as well and loose judd and mitch morton. We get judd and richmond get morton just like they traded for. Can't wait to watch miller and wallace explain how their brilliant plan fell to pieces to the press and their fans. It's a win-win situation. Well for the blues and eagles. Anyway I say serves ninthmond them right for being smart arses and trying to screw the blues over.

We are carlton **** the rest!!!! :thumbsu:

Think you are missing the real point. The 3AW rumour is that Richmond have offered 2 and 18 for Judd, not for Morton.

For Richmond, this either amounts to Carlton paying more (which if it drives out your number 1 pick, may be a win for RFC), or WCE accept the deal in which case Judd plays for the Tiges (the deal wouldn't be done otherwise), or WCE do the offered deal with Carlton, in which case RFC get nothing tangible - but perhaps the gratitude of WCE for unbalancing CFC's negotiating position.

So where is the downside for Richmond?

sorry, but then whats the worry, judd cant go to the tigers anyway as he has to agree?

It is totally irrelevant what Richmond offer West Coast at this time as Judd has no intention of going to Richmond, Tigers are merely playing this game in the hope Carlton give up their no.1 pick, if they were serious about Judd surely the critical first step would be to speak to Judd, the whole process is a game.

No you are right - he could stand out of footy for a year. Do you think?
i just want to clarify the tiges will trade picks 2,18 for morton with the agreement that they will take judd in the psd (outside of afl rules) and then carlton comes along and trades pick 3, kennedy and possibly 20for judd, which yes does involve west coast screwing richmond. then all the tigers walk away with is morton and they can't go and sook to the afl bout it because they were trying to pull a shifty

anyway unless judd decides to go to the tigers (not gonna happen) then there is absolutely nothing to worry about and to all you richmond supporters, get over yourselves, judd doesn't like you or your club!!

All Richmond are doing is as much possible so Carlton can deal with Judd for higher than the original price.

So WC get pick 1 because of the added pressure from Richmond. Meaning they will most likely trade Morton to Richmond cheaply as they have 'gifted' WC more than he's worth(in the context of this particular trade) in the form of #1.

I say hold out, Richmond have no intentions of trading for Judd. Once WC see we are holding firm on pick1 the deal will go through

At this stage of the draft a few years ago, Nick Stevens only wanted to go to Collingwood. While the WCE are a party to this deal, I wouldn't have thought Richmond's offer is irrelevant. Certainly a nuisance, perhaps more.

Fine - he wants to go to Carlton. Pay fair value for him. Otherwise the market may operate to persuade you to do so.

if west coast wanted that deal from richmond, and they were gonna force judd to go (and dont anyone kid themselves it would be forced as he has never stated richmondf were in the running - he must clearly not rate them), then why wouldnt he just decline the trade, and declare himself for the PSD and go to richmond that way. that way he wouldnt force the team that he didnt want to go to in the first place to weaken themselves even further by giving up draft picks.

he could go to a richmond team that would be much better off with picks 2 and 18 still in tact, and with a much bigger chance at success. surely if he was forced somewhere he would at least want that team to be as strong as possible

how is it a nuisance when that trade can't even happen without judds consent?

Richmond are NO chance of getting Judd before the Friday deadline.

Unfortunately, Richmond and Greg Miller in particular are being a pain in the ar$e here. In effect what they are doing is pushing up the value of Judd.

Miller said this morning on SEN that he was "keeping Carlton honest" when in essence all he is doing is stalling the inevitable.

Lets just get this bloody deal done and shut everyone up.
