Quite conceivable that 5 AFL Clubs (nearly 1/3 of the competition) will have an ex-Camry in the top 3 of their B & F this year.
Brisbane/Charlie Cameron. One of the great small forwards. Was treated with cultural disrespect at the Camry Band Camp and told them to G.A.G.F. Camrys decided to keep an aging goal hungry potato (Betts) over an elite talented player with years to play.
Carlton/Ed Curnow. Great tagger and hardball winner. His in and under work sets up the Cripps' and Walsh's of the team. If Adelaide had a decent culture and kept him, they probably could have snagged his brother Charlie too.
Geelong/Patrick Dangerfield. Will likely win another Brownlow which will mean 3 Brownlow's in 6 years from ex-Camrys.
GWS/Phil Davis. One of the best captains and KPD's of the competition. Cannot imagine Davis standing like Mr Potato Head with a metal rod inserted up his clacker on Grand Final Day.
Hawthorn/Ricky Henderson. The only thing between Hawthorn and a wooden spoon right now. Could be an AA in 2019, while the bloke they preferred, Mackay continues to be their whipping boy languishing in the magoos.
These players weren't depth - depth would suggest success and when you missed the finals last year, are on shakey ground this year and haven't won anything for 20 years, you're nothing but a feeder-club where players go to get on an AFL list and leave as quick as possible to improve. Indeed these players stagnated at a culture-less club that cannot develop talent.
Well done to those who are excelling elsewhere from the Camry Clows, a wise move fleeing the nest.
