Yep it's almost a chore now.
Sitting at the st kilda game it was cold, dark, sterile and patchy in all the seating around me (just off centre wing) which use to be bursting.
The people standing up (for those that did) to NTUA with one hand on a scarfe the other on the phone completely fixated on the screen.

No feel of excitement or that charm atmosphere around the place on game day.
The way we play doesn't attract anybody to come have a look.

Gee it's sad...that's how I felt going to adelaide united games (and I have absolutely no emotional attachment to that franchise) and I'm starting to feel that same way going to our games - it was a struggle getting motivated to go watch us play the saints.

I think we have lost all hope, that's the problem. We were treated with fast exciting football in 2013 and 2014 and an oval we could call ours and almost a grand final.

The Crows panicked massively, put Roo on the board, sacked Sando, poached our coach and reinvigorated their club.

Meanwhile our caring community programs are just about the best in the land (I'm not knocking them, it makes me proud of our club) but our neighbour's ruthless leadership led by Fagan who is quite possibly a psychopath have overtaken us in every facet.

We have taken our eye off the ball.

We need China but likely that has distracted us too.

It's friggin hard following this club and we should all be applauded.

It doesn't take nearly as much heart, strength and intestinal fortitude for those weak as piss customers to follow their franchise. Their franchise regularly plays finals plus continually has smoke blown up their ass by the ridiculously one sided SA media.

How do we compete when we continually seem to have to work twice as hard as them?

I reckon Bassett is on a secret promise to take over. Just a hunch with nothing to go on.
You might be right, and he might turn out to be a good coach, but every person in that box is to blame for our current crap set ups. Bassett would have been responsible for the master stroke kick ins to the same pocket we experienced on the weekend...ugh!

These primadonnas we have parading as footballers need a tough ass coach that will shake up their little comfort zone....could Bassett do it? Maybe.
I would still be trying to poach a Longmire or Clarkson, hey you can ask the question...u never know.
Longmire and the Swans might be ready for a mutual change, Dew would be ready to take over the Swans.
Barring those two If we had to go untried coach I would go with Dew, not because he is ex Port Adelaide, but he is part of a successful Swans coaching panel which plays tough, hard football..unlike the tripe we serve up.

This may not go done to well here, I wouldn't mind Choco back as "director of coaching/development" oversees/mentor the choaches and mentor young players aswell as sertajn players that may need it (like he was with Martin)

He was damn a good coach in his day and almost wholly responsible for building the showdown legacy and hatred at port which was disgraced on the weekend !

I doubt he'd come back to Port Adelaide after everything that happened

It's not even the fact that we lost the showdown by a record margin.. it's the whole story. Losing the close games, not beating a top 8 side, under achieving for the list that we have.

When you as a coach, can no longer motivate your players for games such as the showdown, when there's so much on the line - there should be questions asked.

You can't keep playing the same way and expecting different results.

We could be lining up against Hinkley's Suns in Shanghai next year.
The Suns would like having Hinkley from that perspective. He has really bought into the Game in China stuff and could help prepare their team better.
Subaru would be beside herself if we lose Hinkley. If there's one thing she and her Crowie mates desperately want, it's for Hinkley to stay at Poorts ;)

You forgot gold passes, no second KPF, bombing it to the pocket etc etc

Just like we wanted them to keep Sando
