Yep it's a ridiculous situation. $5000 fine and thats it. The AFL needs to scale it back next year and past players can serve as an example. Alas weak leadership. Do it again raise the sanction level.

The club has already talked about the mistake. No point dwelling on it publicly. Rankine needs help moving on and I think the club was right to fight for the carrot to keep his mental wellbeing in check.

Why? Our away record is pretty good this year
1 point loss to Gold Coast, should have won
3 point loss to Hawthorn in Tasmania where finals won't be played and we should have won it
10 point loss to Collingwood.
19 point loss to Fremantle who may not make finals

I get it's an awful word but why do literal drug cheats get more due process and anonymity than a one off mistake? There needs to be a stepped process involving the first incident being dealt with internally involving education and perhaps a 2 week suspension and a massive fine.
All this week has done is make the AFL feel good about themselves while scapegoating Izak for a wider problem all the while making a marginalised community feel ostracised at the same time.
Settle down and focus more on the protected flopper that is Daicos, gives out punches and flops when he gets one back….what does he get? Free kicks and no sanctions si he can do it all again with a green flag from HQ.

Time for a bunch of you to forget about the conspiracy theories and accept that Rankine ****ed up and has to face the consequences.
