Wouldn't we have said the same thing about Judd last year?

as if he's going to make an announcement half way through the year when the Lions are sitting in the 8 and will likely be playing finals. How de-stabilising would that be for the Lions? If he was coming it would not be announced to the end of the year and we would have to go through all the same crap again with working out a deal for Brisbane. Except this time we don't have a priority pick to offer.

Still its a nice dream, would love to have him.

tru but judd wasnt building house in wa and come out and said he was happy where he was. dont see why he would want to leave brisbane theyve got a good list and would be a chance for a flag in couple of years

Why hasn't he signed on yet?

Do players of his calibre normally take this long to resign?

Ususally players like J.Brown get their contracts extended a year out before their contract is due to expire.

Not sure, smells fishy to me. We will wait and see i suppose

He hasn't signed yet because he has said time and time again, that he wants to wait til the season is over, then concentrate on his contract.....playing footy, building a house (in Qld) training etc....would be very time consuming I would think.....sounds sensible to me, but people jump in and make something out of nothing.......calm down folks, it aint gonna happen.......he is a very loyal Lion:thumbsu:

no it doesn't, footy players have plenty of spare time. Clubs would normally want to sign up their star players as early as possible.

Yes it does smell very fishy!:D

Guess we'll find out in the coming months either way.
Agreed...

Brisbane have a good list, but is now out of their grand final window... they may be able to force one with a good run from the finals...

However, Carlton also has a good list and our grand final window will be opening in 2 years time and after our display today against the tigers with our youngsters stepping up, we could look like a much better option.

You guys are going to have a strong team next year. With Kerr, Dal Santo and Jonathan Brown it will be a tough team to beat.

P.S. Picked you guys to win - even though I suspected that either or both of Carrazzo would miss the game. Glad that you did because I want to keep my 3pt lead in my work tipping!

edit: I forgot about you guys getting Ben McKinley too at the end of the season.

It be great to have him if we could. I would say even trading our first 2 rounds picks could do it if he said Carlton. I doubt other clubs would do that with the lockout as they have not had time to rebuilt yet. I say if our club have recruited well enough, it would be a good idea because CHF is the big problem.

Our Midfield line will be fine for years, only Stevens hasn't got like 5 years. That just leaves just the defence to work with, that we have recruited some finds,Browne,Bower,Armfield,Jamieson,Anderson and possibly Austin and who knows maybe Benjamin who only had 2 years, that surely still need another 2.

There you go a top 4 side for sure and Fevola could still play for 4 + years and i'm sure we would look for a future replacement in the coming years who may be on the list now or be a later pick in the draft.

I doubt we go for Dal Santo if anyone it's either Kerr wanting to get out of the eagles that i feel he will if the club struggle next year. It's obvious he will go if what he said is true, that if he get's tagged all the time he won't play for a long time in the AFL. I can see him going, but i reckon Brown is what we need with Fevola more then Kerr. The young Defence will grow eventually with the young Ruckmen.

You would actually have to trade something for Brown though. There is no way you could keep Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer etc. Brisbane are going to want more than pick 6-10 (depending on where you finish) and scrubbers. They are going to want a combination of 2 excellent players/top 3 picks and maybe another top 20 pick/handy players.

If you want Brown, you are going to have to lose 3 players/picks.
