Before debuting it was thought that JA would be the long term replacement for Clement.

Even though he is yet to play in defence in the AFL I think his precise kicking could well serve us well in the back half, much like Clement. Don't forget when he first played at the Dockers Clement was played as a forward also.

He needs some work on his body positioning and with his hands. He almost holds a lot of good marks but doesn't quite. Probably due to not playing as a forward often in adult footy. Hopefully, these things will improve.

His endeavour and foot skills cannot be doubted though.

Every week I think – I DUNNO.
But every week I see something more to like.

He can kick so if he gets it half as much as most of our other marking forwards he’s in front. He’s certainly earned himself a spot in the starting 22 for the rst of this year and the begining of the next.

I have not seen any comment from JAJH re: Jack....
I would be very interested in his opinion on how Jack is going.

We should leave him up forward.

The more players who take their chances, the better. He had 4 disposals against Port, but he effected the game a lot.

Cloke is good, but let's be honest.....he needs a fair bit more of the ball to have a positive impact on the team.

Someone who can kick beautifully and provides awesome defensive pressure is someone we should be leaving up forward for now imo.

Agreed. Does not get a lot of Kick but he makes them count.

If JA had 10 Shots at goal he would have a Chance to kick 10 Goals:thumbsu:

Quickly becoming my fav player at the Pies - just absolutely love the way he goes about his footy. Just has that 'look' about him as well :thumbsu:

Looks like he could provide us with some much needed versatility.

We've obviously gotta keep him forward at the moment, however, if needed (one of our backs go down) he can easily be switched back. Having a player like this who can play both sides of the ground is invaluable and provides a great tactical advantage.

Looks like the best 'swing man' at the club since Ronnie Mckeown.

I love this bloke, he just puts in every week and just gets the job done, a tru collingwood player.

Why are alot of you mentioning Reid as a part of our forward line, from what i have seen he cannot kick and doesn't get a touch. we should trade him to someone like the doggies so we can inject some pace into our side

Reportedly Chris Dawes is also similarly versatile.
All looks good for the future.

On a totally different subject...don't the womens pole vaulters have excellent bums!!!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Been very impressed with him up forward and would be happy to see him play the fast leading forward role from here on. I expect him to continue playing out the year no matter how far we go.

Scotty Burns referred to him as a future full back on Footy Classified so he'll end up down back some time in the near future. Probably not this season, but I'd be thinking the club will move him down their next year...or at least for some games. Hope he grows a centimeter or two though if he's going to fullback and bulks up a bit more.

Now has 19.3 from 8 1/2 AFL games.

NAB rising star nomination?

We don't want J.Brown, we have plenty of young guys who can develop into forward roles.

It would be interesting to get a breakdown of his goals, as I would suspect two or three would be examples of classic "lead at the ball carrier, take the mark, kick the goal' type. He has had a number from tackled free kicks, a number of kicks off the ground in the goals square, and number from snaps, and a number from irregular leading direction (ie 90 degrees from the bal carrier) and goal.

He has actually put down a few marks when coming directly at the ball carrier and delivered to hi chest.

Probably indicates that he is not a full forward type option (or a fast leding forward option) but more of a roaming forward / Aaron Hamill tye who uses pressure to get goals.

Could still fit Rusler / Reid into a forwardline with him.

I still rate him as a prospective back man, but you just can't argue with his goalkicking ability.

^ think he was talking about Reid not JA.

Would love to see him playing down back, would give it a really tough edge and have visions of him streaming out of defence through traffic and delivering down field with pin-point accuracy.

But they way he kcks for goal.....may be too valuable up forward to move.

Could be anything this kid!
