He's not a bad player, not sure how he has been going in the VFL but as junior he was always an absolute manchild. Solid body, well developed and deceptively quick. Skills can be rusty at times but def got ability to be one of those contributer sort of players on in an AFL side.

Good onya Wizzard for sticking up for Jace. And your a Freo docker lol Cheers mate. Jace played his best game imo last week for Sandy and I thought he showed some real poise. He will be good if he keeps showing his current form. Newton's stepped up recently so step up to the plate Jace. :)
 
Gotta be worth trying more than Carroll, Pickett, Ward, Holland or Godfrey.

I remember his U18 carnival, he was sensational. His size was the only thing stopping him from being a relatively early draft choice.

ps regardless of my somewhat critical perception of the self-prescribed 'top 30 draft pick', i am at least pleased a south australian is getting a gig (or close to).

I had a lot to do with Jace in his time at Sturt, he has tickets on himself no doubt but what young footballer doesnt. I would love to see him do well, he is a very good footballer.

looked classy in his few games at sturt. impressed us. feel free to send him back next year. nah hope he gets a game soon.

I think everyone is being a bit harsh on Mark Riley, I don't want him as coach next year but I also think he isn't doing too bad a job with a team that doesn't have a clue what its doing. I think Bode deserves his chance this week and maybe last week but 3 weeks ago he certainly didn't, and I have no problem with young players been made to work for there debuts. Riley has played Newton and Buckley (something ND didn't) and has also given Jamar, Pickett, Miller and Ferguson chances to show something.

Don't you think that has something to do with the coach though? I really haven't been at all impressed with Riley's performances so far. Sure, we have injuries to players and we're blooding youngsters left, right and centre, but we should be at least somewhat competitive. I mean, even 4-5 goal losses will do me at this stage. Take a look at carlton, Ratten has turned their relatively inexperienced bunch into a competitive bunch in the matter of weeks. We really shouldn't be getting beaten by 10 goals + every week.
 
My problem with Riley is dropping guys like Buckley who should be developed in the seniors and keeping in Ward and Brown.
Dog I'll say has probably done enough to keep his spot, and I know both he and Wardy give their all, but don't see much point playing them over Buckley, Bode etc.

we also have to play our best team or be ecused of tanking. Ward is definately in our best team at the moment and brown has played pretty well to earn his spot. Buckley showd something while in the side but isnt in our best side at the moment. was good for him to get the chance to play this year and will probs play a couple more at the end of the season

Everyone bags out CJ but how can you expect him to make any headway if he is in one week, out the next. Take some faith in the lad - play him week in and week out. Can run well with the ball, has a good kick and has been going well at Sandy. I don't really care about Godfrey, Ward and Pickett. They won't be around much longer. Sadly to say, either will McDonald.
