Jack went to my high school (2 years above me before he left) and from what I remember he used to be friend mainly with females, not having too many male friends. I think it's been a big transition to join the football club and be surrounded by males all the time everyday.

Not that I'm saying this is a valid reason for anything, but it could be a factor. He'll no doubt settle soon enough. We should all remember that this only the beginning of his career and he's done very well.

I think Jack has said as much himself in interviews.
He put it down to being an only boy in a family full of girls.

I don't care who likes him as long as he kicks goals and not team mates.

Santa O'Helpme we do not need.

See that has been the problem with this board sometimes, focus on the negative.

We should be saying "I noticed a lot of girls get on with Jack.:D

I know he'll be fine.

The boy is driven.:thumbsu:

My gay friend loves him. He has ripped No 23 off his gersey and replaced it with No 9. Gay love is so fickle.

Jack you are loved son! Go forth and marketh without pushing then kicketh straight and true!!

That could be good for his endorsement potential. The pink dollar is always at full strength. :thumbsu:

Yeah because he wouldn't have been around other males growing up playing footy.

The fact is some people just don't fit in, who really cares tho, as long as it doesn't end up on field - which I haven't seen - it doesn't matter if Jack slept with every players mother, sister or brother and they all hate him.

Leaf out of Wayne Carey's book? Leigh Mathews even, nice, go Jack!

I grew up with a family of girls to so I feel the same way. I enjoy the company of femmes too, especially in David Lee Roth proportions - wo ho ho!

anyone else concerned at the brain explosions that he is having, im not talking about his pushing in marking contests which was frustrating enough, but when he has the ball inside 50 trying to play on , kicking around his body and generally stuffing up a scoring situation.his workrate was good but his decision making is terrible at the moment.please jack if you have a set shot on or inside 50 just go back and have a shot.

Just a kid. Will continue to learn and can only get better.

In all honesty I reckon Jack has Aperger's. Google it and see if you agree. I'm not being a smartarse here. My son has it and I've been convinced of it for some time now. I love him. The AFL needs characters and I'm glad he plays for the Pies!

Jack Attack must stay in our side! He is easily in our best 22. For christ sake you guy's you are being a bit harsh on the Kid! Remember he is only 21 and has kicked 40 goals in 18 games this year playing at full forward.

The kid will only get better but I would love to see him get rested for the Sydney match in round 21 so he can be fresh come finals time.:thumbsu:

Precisely.

Just go check his age...then check his career games.

Jack is well ahead of schedule.
Precisely.

Maybe he's just a private person who feels uncomfortable with the enforced contact of the team environment all the time.

He does seem a bit unsettled, but surely you have to expect that in one so young who carries so much responsibility? We're depending so much on Jack because of the injuries to Rocca and Rusling, and perhaps because Dawes hasn't come along as quickly as expected, and Cloke hasn't been his best for most of the year. Under the circumstances, he's done a remarkable job. :thumbsu:
Precisely.

Deserves another game this week but some of his mistakes* are concerning me. Want to see him step it up a level this week and elimate that sort of crap.

* Against Adelaide the hands in back free he gave away. Turning the ball over when he huridly tried to play on 40 m from goal but botched it. His turning the ball over in the midfield through a completely errant handball after he'd taken a mark.

Some of you blokes have no clue.

He's only 21

Has kicked more goals at this stage of his career than Buddy or Roughead had at the same stage.

He never played in the forward line before mick put him there.

His accuracy alone warrants selection...and he is starting to take bigger grabs and outbodying players.. Imagine how he will be when he puts on some size.

We've finally got a power forward gem (who can kick straight)

guys i must say i am quite disapointed I think Jack is an awesome talent and a great person as well. Rewind to the Adelaide game and watch his set shots.... not too bad for a 21 year old huh?? and what about the goals he created by simply working his guts off.... yer i know thats what afl footbllers are paid for, but he puts in... and who stays behind every training session working on his kicking skills....? yes you guessed it our boy Jack. i give alot of credit to him... because as a professional you have off days i would know coz ive been pro in another sport for a very long time. AS for his hair and other things i mean cmon ive stuffed up my hair color a million times and had to re-dye it and move on. I reckon Jacks in our top 5 at collingwood and alot of wins we have had over the past 6-8 weeks are because of him. gO Jack hold your head up high you are truly a gun player... i wear your number with pride....!!!

wasnt it probably only just over a year ago he debuted, such harsh critics on this kid. Has all the tools thought to be an extremely good player for us for a long time.

Its finaly a relief to have a forward that you are happy to have the ball in his hands and have a shot from anywhere inside 50. Him and Medders need to be more selfish at times and just go back and have a shot.

As much as i have loved rocca, tazza and clokey, they were never a certainty even ten metres out.

He created more chances for himself today as you'd expect against a pretty insipid Richmond side. He still wasted alot of them with inaccurate kicking. He still hasn't returned to full confidence. Was happy to see him have a go though - instead of dishing off - but the execution was off. Overall though pretty impressive stuff today - especially his presentation and tackling efforts.
