Roast Jack Anthony

I don't know but how many times have you seen a FF play as a HFF?

Jack is a FF- plain and simple. Why he is being played on flank is beyond me. Just look at Fev, he was shithouse all night and continued to stay deep in attack because that's where he is best suited. In the end, he got them over the line with a couple of miracle goals.

Time for Jack to play closer to goal or any of our key forwards to play closer to goal for that matter, rather than have them up and beyond the 50m arc where their "damage" is useless.

The last two weeks, our structures and set-ups have been disgusting. Small forwards playing as key forwards, key forwards playing as HFF/wingman, midfielders playing as small forwards etc.

I think you are pretty much spot on with this. It was so frustrating at the game last night to see Brisbane continually have a brown/fev deep and then when the moved the ball quickly they already had a target to kick to. Whereas for us we would move the ball quickly then get stuck on at HF because our forwards were on the wings/or had the ball at hf and there was no one to kick. Why we don't play dawes/cloke or anthony deep continually is beyond me. Our structures have been disgusting and really hope it changes for our next game.

The mark he 'dropped' on the flank, that resulted in turnover and goal to Fevola was the biggest arm chop I've ever seen not paid. It wasn't even possible for the player to effect a legal spoil from where he was and he smashed his elbow to give away a professional free kick, problem is, the umpire didn't pay it

Agree with this.

The unpaid mark in the last also hurt.

If both of these were paid (particularly the latter) we'd be all toasting Jack because we would have most likely got over the line.

I'm no more sick of Bucks being lauded as the reason the team's scoring well when we win. The truth is that both Bucks and Mick share responsibility, win or lose, good performance or bad by our forwards. However it's an area in which everyone's agenda comes to the forefront in analysing games after the fact.

We will lose games of football under Buckley.

Buckley will make mistakes in his coaching career especially early.

We will probably initially go backwards under Buckley, due to various reasons but it will be acceptable as he tries to implement a new system with new players and tries to mix it up.

Under Malthouse losing gets annoying as he makes the same mistakes, has the same flawed game plan (all be it tweaked) that can be exposed if the opposition play through the center and hold us up on the boundary line.
He has his limited favorites who get a game weekly despite form or a proven history of failing when it counts. He has had 10+ years to address his shit but as much as the list changes certain aspects don't.

He is a good coach that will get u consistent finals but not good enough to win the big one (without a state side).

So yes Buckley isn't perfect but at least he wont continue to make the same mistakes for 10+ years.

If Jack Anthony was going to play, then he had to played at full forward because he isn't really suited to anywhere else in the forward line. He was poor though, and unfortunately he made Brent Staker look like Superman. How could that happen?

Malthouse does have his favourites such as Alan Toovey, Brent Macaffer and Leigh Brown, but at least he has accepted that Brown is not in Collingwood's best team. That said, he is good enough to win the "big one." An extra goal in the 2007 Preliminary Final and Collingwood would have beaten Port Adelaide in the Grand Final. He has bad days in the coaches box such as this week, but he has more good days, and of course he is good enough to have a good day on Grand Final day, even without a state side.

He had the sit, perfect kick, and a break on his opponent, the fact he went half hearted between chest mark abd overhead and is slow (has he always been treacle?) resulted on him dropping it, maybe it was a techinical free but I was more depressed with how he attacked the ball, which was an issue for him all night
