I don't have a problem with trade rumours provided they aren't defamatory.
I don't believe that saying player x is going to club y damages the players reputation, but posting rumours about the personal lives and actions of players most certainly damages their reputation.

Is to say a player wants a $200k pay rise defamatory ?????

and one other thing How would you go reaching for a Mark with a Plate in your face and not holding back a bit after 4 weeks off. He was not the worst on the ground and who else have we got as any of the boys in the 2nds dont deserve a shot thats for sure.

A question for all of you guys. If Charlie Gardiner got 2 kicks in 90 mintues playing on Aaron Henneman and we lost to a lowly side, you guys would be riding him out of Geelong. But Henry seems to be able to put in these performances 3 out of 4 weeks and you guys just say he is developing. Developing into what. Improving?? Improving to 5 kicks a game??? I am not being a smart ass, I am just asking a question of a player who I see week in week out go nowhere near the ball, and keep getting accolades. Yet Gardiner does the same and he gets crusified. P.s. I think Charlie is a dud too.

If you say that a player may be traded, then no.

If you say that a player is going to walk out on his club, then yes, you could concievably say his loyalty is being questioned.

Ive never said H will win a brownlow or ever be a carey like forward, however he was starting to haul in marks, run the CHB around before he got a broken Jaw..he won us the game against the crows at KP.

H has more ability than Gardiner and Gardiner doesnt have the height or bulk to play CHF. Henry may not be our long term aim for that spot but he has the ability to play there and will improve over the next few years, Remember Scarlo was almost ditched when Bommer came ina s he didnt think he could play although he got him sorted. We are a big tall down in the forward and the twos haev got nobody capable in there.


As for talk about someone chasing the $$, that is not defaming as it is usually the Player manager hanging out for more. Im sure you would try and get as much out of your employer as you can...or am I slandering youfor saying that?

I do not believe he will ever be a good full forward of centre half forward. He can't play in defence (just ask Brendon Lade). His only chance is to be a third string forward who sacrifices his body to crash and bash and provide a contest or be a Brad Miller type who sprints up the ground takes a chest mark and handballs to an onballer running forward who does have decent dispoal skills. He will never be a goalkicker or a player that we can count on when we need 2 goals in five minutes to win the game.

Jack, I think the point of difference of opinions is that you are willing to write off Henry as having no hope when he's only played 40 odd games while other posters (me included) are willing to give him more time to see how he develops.

I respect your right to an opinion mate, but it works both ways. If you are going to write him off when he's clearly shown something in what little exposure he's had, you're opening yourself up to criticism. Cameron Thurley is a totally different player. You can't build a team around a forward pocket player who might kick 4 goals one week and not get a kick the next. At least Henry provides a target, week in, week out.
