Bitter lot in the Lions board. Still, I'm over it. Beams is a brilliant player, individually better than Crisp, but plays for a team that won't be a finals threat for the foreseeable future since they refuse to get key forwards or a decent coach.

I'm happy with Crisp. Crisp and Adams make our midfield setup much more balanced and dynamic than having Beams and Macaffer in there. Also, Crisp seems to be one of those players that really pumps the team up with his enthusiasm. His running long bomb goals are becoming a trademark. Seeing a young up and coming player do his role every week with real passion is great. He loves his footy at the Pies.
 
Crisp is better than Beams for the Pies. Beams racks up the stats and is good at impacting the scoreboard but he is a handball machine who often concedes ground and doesn't run two ways. We get most of Beam's best traits with Crisp albeit lower "stat" padded numbers. Would never swap.

Not sure he ever discussed who won the trade. Throw in DeGoey as well too.
 
Never know who's going to be special from late in the draft but we get a fair ****ing spread.

He was playing on Shiel and Shiel was comfortably winning the duel. Crisp played much better in the second half but by then, the weight of injuries were affecting GWS fairly bad. You can't say he had a bad game since he scored a career high disposal count along with a couple of goals, but he lost the head to head until maybe the last quarter.

Keen to give it a watch and form my own view. Shiel is for mine the best young mid in the game so for him to go to head to head and get 27 and 2 is a good sign.

That's the thing, even if he's getting beaten, he's still having a positive impact. To contrast, Macaffer rarely (if ever) got beaten, but he'd also offer little offensively as a result. Whereas Crisp is always looking to contribute and hunt for the ball. Even if he's losing the head to head, the team has a net positive outcome because of the way he plays.

That was good though that Crisp was Beaten but still had Impact on the Game
 
As others have mentioned, kicking is really quite solid. Great pick up. Reckon he comes across as worth a first round pick on what he has shown this year, plus great to have another big bodied mid next to Pendles.

Will be interesting to see how he goes on Fyfe and Jordan Lewis or Same Mitchell. Looking fwd to it. Enjoyable season to watch some of these guys develop, let's hope the competeitveness continues

Agree - Getting another Tall Big Body Mid alongside Pendles is something we did need in our Midfield.

Yeah be interesting to see how he goes against the Really Good Mature Sides

Last week was without doubt the least effective game he has had for the Pies. I won't say worst because in a midfield that really struggled he was better than most. Melbourne really know how to put the clamps on our midfield. They've been able to do it for the last 5 years or so.
 
A bit OT, but anyone know what the tatt says on his forearm?
