Dusty is on video grabbing a stripper’s breast and nothing came of it. Hopefully this is treated the same. At least it came out now, and not a week before finals.

If we make the finals (should do btw) something else will croo up - this is Collingwood - some people are probably planning their September strike against us now 🤣

Agreed, based on what we know so far, no football punishment. But I can definitely see the case for sending him along to a Respect course. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. Now its in the public domain, I'm not sure we can let that language/attitude go by without action. Of course that's without knowing the other half of the conversation Jack was participating in and what he was responding to.

The other factor about tonight's game, will Jack even be mentally right to play? I imagine its been a tough 12 hours for him so far and assuming this is new information for his wife, there is every chance he's got way more on his mind than how to fulfil his role against Brisbane.

Also spot on about the profiteering aspect. The AFLPA needs to make a stand against the media reporting on or buying leaked/secretly recorded content of players where there is no genuine need for public interest.
That’s the key question is he mentally up to playing. The drug angle is inconsequential because every player gets around that. First instinct on the language toward the girls is he wouldn’t give a shit given his history and for all we know he’s in an open relationship. Basically I’m parking that one and the cards will fall as they do.

I’m not sure about the media being in the gun for sharing the content. I’m no legal eagle, but my assumption would be that when they purchase content such as this they do a lot of due diligence in protecting themselves legally speaking. My understanding is that this footage is a recording of someone scrolling through their phone who has screenshots of Crisp’s content. If the person taking the video didn’t receive the images and was the one to sell the video to media outlets I’m not sure where that ends up…

Edit: to give a practical example for the second paragraph it’s akin to operating an Onlyfans account, someone then taking that content and distributing it without the consent of the creator for profit. Pure speculation here, but this angle could be why some media outlets aren’t reporting on it at this point.

I've noticed Instagram aren't either and @footyonnine closed off comments...🤔 it's very rare they turn off comments.
They've probably done that due to legal advice.

Even if all those snapchat photos are legitimately from Crisp they were not shared publicly but sent privately to a contact or contacts. It's akin to someone stealing your photos from your partner's house and distributing them. They are private.

Media outlets will need to tread very carefully here as by sharing the images and describing them is a breach of privacy including the "revenge pr0n" laws.

You may recall that Dane Swan was a victim of this.

“We’re not quite sure but we’re lead to believe it’s historical, it’s from a number of years back,” McGuire said.

“The Collingwood Football Club will do its due diligence with the AFL to see whether it was historical, whether it was private and confidential and whether Jack Crisp is the victim here.”

Co-host Damian Barrett said the investigation would look at whether the video was consensually sent and received.

“And has somebody set him up now?” McGuire interjected.

I think the board will act on it.

Hopefully just a fine… to remind older players of their accountability to their teammates and the club that they are paid very well to play for… and to make an example and keep the younger players in line

Jack says sorry. Pays the fine… which hopefully goes to a charity rather than the clowns at AFL House.

Do absolutely nothing and the club will be made a pariah for it by the usual suspects in the media and the narrative will be that it’s not a family friendly club, etc etc

And before anyone arcs up over Jack being fined… he only had himself to blame for sending nudes, etc

Should know better. Especially given how much of this type of controversy Collingwood has already had over the last several years.

No sympathy for him from me.

How does the club have the right to sanction him if these photos were taken before he was at the club? I heard he talked in class when he was at school one day - better sanction him for that as well.

Exactly. I hope the person who has shared these pics without consent is identified & charged. As for the rest of it, it's so easy to add any text to a photo.

The Age and the Herald-Sun are certainly running with the story? Only the Herald-Sun have published the images, though. Will they be at risk for sharing the images?

I think it’s pretty likely they were taken while he was at Collingwood.

The question is what is he guilty of?
Talking dirty is not illegal or against the AFL’s rules.
Posting photos of unknown white powder on a table, ditto.
Posting nudes privately, ditto.

Bringing the game into disrepute? Tough to make a claim for that if someone posted a snapchat video recorded without his consent.

Hold on...was Chad Warner punished? I didn't even see that reported in the news? Were Riewoldt & the other Saint punished when nudes of them were shared without their consent? No, they weren't. It's not illegal to take nude photos of yourself. It is illegal to share them without consent.

Nothing will happen, if anything, it's an invasion of privacy
It's an interesting one.

AFL and Collingwood have previously been way out of step with current theories and legislation regarding online safety. Rather than trying to protect their employees regarding online bullying, their previous actions have condoned and encouraged the bullying. I'll be appalled if the club doesn't make a really strong statement against The Hun, but they didn't with the JDG or Ginni and IQ case last year, so I don't expect they will this time around either.

Isn't it the second time a "scandal" has been leaked the week before a team plays Brisbane?

Dusty story also broke the week they were playing Brisbane.

Potentially.

That's all I can say because there are too many unknowns.

The HS always flies close to the sun and Murdoch has deep pockets.

fair enough - just reading through the thread someone mentioned there were no Tats on his arms or legs so I thought it may have been pre CFC

I follow Crispy’s insta and it’s one of the most wholesome AFL player pages out there. So this is completely out of character. Weird.

Smells like a stitch up. He has two young kids so hopefully this doesn’t unravel his relationship.

Footy players aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, so could be legit. Hope not.

Yeah… like 4 weeks 🙃

Too many red flags on this one that smell like bullshit

  • It's not even a video of him. It's a video...of someone swiping through photos on a phone
  • The photos are a random mix of super old and sem-recent
  • Snapchat text is SUPER easy to fake
  • The timing...

I really hope the club approaches this in a better and more supportive manner than they did De Goey in Bali.

"We conducted an investigation. It's bullshit...move along"

Considering they wouldn't move to protect a player from organized and premeditated assault I doubt they will make any move.

Chad Warner is the only recent comparison… probably got the lenient treatment because he outed himself as gay in the process

The other two examples might as well be 100 years ago given how much footy culture has changed in the last 10 years

If it turns out these photos were pre Collingwood then the club should let it go.

Otherwise he should be made an example of like Ginnivan

The right club culture needs to be established and maintained
