McRae has invited Sam Stynes, the widow of the late great Jim Stynes, to address the playing group ahead of a game where Jack Crisp breaks the Irishman’s long-standing record of 244 consecutive games, in a week where Collingwood and the game has recognised a stunning achievement from the two-time best and fairest winner.
“I was lucky enough to chat to Sam Stynes last night and we are going to get Sam in to celebrate Jim and show the incredible longevity of his career but also what he did for so many in the game,” he said.
“Then show some footage of Jim and get Sam to take us into his world. Then we will celebrate Jack. It’s a massive achievement to be able to play that many games in a row.”

).Callum Wilkie is 105 behind. He has played 139 without missing since his first game.
Love it when he tucks it under his arm and fends off a flailing tackler. His long striding runs out be it out of the backline, through the midfield (or both) are a thing of beauty.
When he finishes it off with a goal it’s fantastic.
Impressively, over time he has improved his right foot kicking to a point where it is very reliable.
(A bit like the player he’s ranked behind at out Club).
PS: His two goals in our Premiership were also “things of beauty”.
Even having the motivation to get out of bed to play for the Saints is remarkable.Wilkie is remarkable
Since Rd 11 2021, Wilke has played 87 consecutive games.
But of those games, he has been on the ground 100% of the time for 72 of those games. Of the others, his lowest time on ground is 89%.

Does Crisp take a quick look at the people behind him in the streak and line them up each time the pies play their team![]()

. Almost laughable that’s potentially the closest he’s been to missing.Could still be “managed” out of a game tooWaiting till he has the record before he starts that, wouldn’t want an untimely suspension ruining his run.
It’s funny how there’s been lots of mentions about times he’s nearly missed a match through injury or illness, when in reality I think we all know the closest call for him missing match was that incident early in 2023. Almost laughable that’s potentially the closest he’s been to missing.
Crisp said on tv a few games back that he has had hammy and calf niggles but got up to play. pretty rare to get through any niggles like this.
