The ability to just burst away from a tackler and take off on those runs has disappeared.
It was sad seeing him try and fend off and just get wrapped up in tackles. It’s why moving him could maybe get him into more space to run, not sure

Did he even get a midfield role? Feel like he was always just stuck out on a wing whilst we were crying out for some power and burst speed from the center bounce
Very, very rarely that’s fair, he didn’t play much in the centre bounce. I think his wing role involved some stoppage midfield play, but far less generally

Had a down year. Doesn’t mean he can’t get back to top form, he’s the type of person that will put in the work and get back to the top of his game. Too many people writing him off early for mine.
I’m with you.
Expecting a big year from Crispy Cream.

Would me a great tagger imo albeit an expensive one.

128 CBAs. Only behind Daicos, Long, Pendlebury and Sidebottom (and Cameron of course).

He was well out of sorts this year. A real interesting watch for 2026. So used to his clean hands and tear away pace. This year he fumbled and bumbled a fair bit and his usually long kicking even deserted him with struggles to make the distance. I'm with others who have said he needs rest/s throughout season and no more focus on consecutive games record.

He made the top 10 of the Copeland.

He can’t be that terrible.
But so did Pendles and Sidey and they are coming to the end as well. :) I thought Crispy was luck to finish top 10 maybe playing every game helped as it seems to be one of the major factors in who finishes high up.

I thought this was the case again Sunday night. Is he bereft of a definitive role or position without the breakaway ability?
Track watchers, does he appear off the pace, or do you think he has been carrying a niggle?
Crisp can hurt opposition, not in the same way as an A grader, but he does bob up regularly to make a statement when the whips are cracking.

Agreed, I thought he had one of his best games for awhile.
True, but he played the role of link man with his handpassing, rather than winning clearances or bursting runs. Definitely a solid contribution but only adequate imo, far from the explosive mid and strong contested marker of old. With Sidey going backwards too, we need to hope that some of our young mids come on who can match that contribution with a higher long-term upside.

I thought Crisp was ok on Sunday. 26 disposals at 89% efficiency.
That is true, but it's the 1st time in 6 matches it's been above 75%. His disposal efficiency fell off a cliff last year. He hasn't had a coaches vote since R9 last year, following 6 games where he picked votes in 2024. Another concern is the decline in his meters gained.
With 5 on the bench, I won't be surprised if he's going to be used more of a rotation impact player where I believe he'll have maximum impact (along with JDG, Howe & Emblebury). I really think this rotation impact of our veterans is going to be a factor etched in the annuls of our 2026 season.

Agree - disposal can be pretty hit and miss. But his set shot goal kicking is pretty good especially when it matters.

Crisp should be vulnerable and the consecutive games is irrelevant imo. Perhaps being under pressure will bring out the best in him.

Jack isn't vulnerable. We've got no depth. We had our full set of runners fit and available and both Allan and Steele were in the team. He's particularly invulnerable when you factor in his versatility and ability to play in any third of the ground - and inside or outside. He'll only miss a game through injury or management and with it now a 23 they'll manage more whilst playing the game.

Who’s putting pressure on him? He can play multiple roles and none of our kids are even close to taking his spot. Allan and HDM def aren’t and the others haven’t played a vfl game

From a versatility point of view agree

Imo needs to maintain a decent level - Anderson, Harrison and Prindable will be pushing very hard for spots.

By year end I expect Anderson and Harrison to be mainstays in our team.
