Traded Jack Darling - Traded to North for Pick #67

Funny thing is, Brisbane should of been the one to trade in to get Jack Darling for a season or 2.

Hipwood will definitely need help in the goalsquare with contested marks.

If Darling stands in the goalsquare he still draws a key defender when Larkey leads. This is huge help for him over the next 2 years.

Idea North should have given his spot to a youngster is absurd also. You want a 18 year old in the goal square being 2nd ruck to Xerri?

It was either Teakle or Darling and even if Darling is cooked, he is still a upgrade on Teakle who is a terrible forward

Said it at the time, but if you want a summary of Darling's career his second quarter here vs the Crows in 2021 when he kicked 5, was it in a nutshell

-Strong pack marks and on the lead
-Accurate set shot
-Inexplicable brain fade trying to dribble a shot on goal resulting in a nutmeg on the defender
-Dropped chest mark in the open, followed by
-A good snap on goal

WTF !! I was expecting a Tom Hawkins staging through space type video, but this was brilliant. Very nimble for such a big guy.

I think he was black belt in some martial art. Maybe Taekwondo?

Posters potting the Darling trade, I rekon we have 1 player over 30 on the whole list and are the youngest and least experienced side so bringing in Darling for support for Larkey for 2 years while we draft a young key foward and he can develop in the vfl for a few years with no pressure to play straight away, it is a no brainer and giving up pick 67 that we won't even use in the draft to do it. Weird
