Yeh fortunately they aren't image driven hipsters though. I'd take Ballaz and Crowley over masten any day of the week. They are team dedicated players. Masten is only dedicated to being a fashion icon.
Ballantyne was shown up for the player he really is in the GF. :thumbsu:

He's a better player than Crowley

... who is the best tagger currently playing in the AFL and takes out the most of the best mids in the competition, week in and week out. Apart from growing a bushy beard, Masten is better than him at doing this particular role - how?

The same guy Masten carved up in the second derby?

How did that game work out for you guys, though?
Crowley beat Mitchell in the GF. How did that game go for you? See, I can do that too.

Firstly, he isn't going anywhere.

Secondly, it would take a straight swap with Fyfe to get it done.

Thirdly, Masten would be a walk up start in your midfield.

Funny thread though.

What is up with WCE folks constantly trying to convince everyone else that Masten can play!

We're not blind the guy is a massive dud who just constantly butchers the ball or sells teammates into trouble

Please stop !!

Do you reckon Masten has the chops to do what Crowley does week in and week out and negate Selwood, Mitchell, Johnson, et al with what "inferior" ability he has?

GB, I think you'll be waiting til eternity if you really expect a reasoned and sensible reply from lmach. It's just not in him. He's a troll. Cheapshots is all he knows.

First two points have merit. Last point doesnt.

Masten isn't a tagger...

This entire thread is full of cheap-shots. Don't give if you can't take.

Yeah that's him - the same guy who played on masten (as opposed to tagging him) and won more of the footy despite making it as a late draft pick vs a number 3 pick nancy boy. Masten like WCE = shite.

Your point was that Masten was a walk up start into our side as he was a better player than Crowley. My point is that there is no way Crowley will be dropped for him, as he cannot match what Crowley does for our side despite his lofty skills.

Masten - 26 touches
Crowley - 25 touches

My job here is done.

It's great for you guys that your miles better than the eagles at the moment and it's very trendy to put down their players but it's a very arrogant and narrow minded view that seems to have been taken on this board recently where you can't acknowledge that some of their individuals may be performing well, which is an attitude you have always accused West Coast fans of having. Chris Masten has developed into a high quality player and it is ignorant to suggest otherwise.

Not putting down individual players at all. Darling is a very good forward, they have a very good forward line, but some of us feel that paying overs for him (if this rumour has any credence) would be worth it as some of us don't think he is the KPF we need.

As for the arguments about Masten, no doubt he is probably one of WCE's better mids, but for them to claim he would be a walk up start into our side and float Crowley as the inferior player he could easily displace is waving the red flag at posters who are posting on the FREO BOARD.

If you guys consider getting one touch more as "carving up" then it's no wonder why your midfield has escaped criticism from Eagles fans despite being non-existent for most of the year.
We've been very hard on our midfield. But there's so many easier targets than Masten - the one mid who performed admirably for us this season.

Actually you prove my point rather nicely - a "tagger" gets 1 stat less than your superstar and also kicks 1.2 vs 0.0

Your best mid can't even beat our tagger in a 1 on 1 shoot out - imagine if Crowley actually tagged him.

Back on topic, wouldn't mind Darling.....for a 3rd rounder :D
