I believe a West Coast fan (who I will leave anonymous) summarised everything very nicely on their board:

Darling is pathetic campaigner. Would rather flail about for frees than make a contest

Darling is a ******* embarrassment to West Coast, and has always been an utter campaigner

You can't beat that for a succinct biography.

Mentally fragile flat track bully who is now probably the worst finals form player since Leon Davis. Watch the Eagles board go ballistic as they slowly realise they will be left with him as their best forward in two years when Kennedy retires and he goes to water every finals game.

Sure the bloke has talent and a good build for footy but the way he plays is a total embarrassment, a big man that runs around out there like a complete fairy and flat out chokes. Glad he doesn't play for us.

That's what happens when ducking and throwing your head back is encouraged and rewarded for all of your early AFL career. I don't think he was naturally that soft to begin with, they've made him that way by giving him a "cheat first" game plan and not teaching him to go hard for the ball.

Was thinking about how many of the eagles regular season games at Subiaco in particular they regularly get those soft free kicks and get momentum/goals from them. Last night they were still trying but not getting any. Combination of better umpiring (no Luke Farmer?) being a final and the Bulldogs just being smarter with knowing their ducking opposition.

I felt the Bullies were very disciplined in getting low to tackle.

I thought the umpiring was ok last night. Not perfect but it never effected the flow of the game and that helped the Doggies who play a full on momentum game from start to finish.

Well, I'd be happy with a bloke who plays bad footy and still kicks 44 goals. Thats ist 8 more then our leading goalkicker who will probably be no. 2 in our b&f as well...

Yeah this, we'd take him without a second thought if he was available
