A lot longer than thatLooks like you're now the one who's not flying, Ken, you little f*ckwit!
And Sic was right. Your club has been a nowhere club for eight years and counting.

When Port do finally move him on, I'd like to see the roaming Brian segment replaced with a shit stirring Ken segment. They should get him in for today's final. I'd love to see Cats lose and him cause Dangerfield to lose his shit.Ken is a legend, hope he stays coaching Port for ever so these hijinks can continue otherwise get him to Hawthorn as a consultant to the social media team

Oh please, I didn't wait until after the game to start sledging Ken Hinkley. I've been at it all week.Yet you use it as a response to a taunt, making sure you waited until after the game.
Oh please, I didn't wait until after the game to start sledging Ken Hinkley. I've been at it all week.
And as numerous anti-Hawthorn posters have repeatedly pointed out, Kenny is a man who doesn't respect the same boundaries of good sportsmanship as Sam Mitchell, James Sicily, Luke Hodge, and Dermott Brereton.
So it's only reasonable to respect Ken Hinkley's own boundaries and continue sledging him after he's lost.
After all, as Ken will tell you himself, if you throw something out there, it's going to be thrown back occasionally.

Looking back it doesn’t matter, this will boost the rivalry along with two close finishes. Sicily basically said Ken was acting like an idiot and that he hasn’t achieved anything really which is true, not getting past a prelim in his long coaching career, and Sam backing that in by saying he backs Sicily and thought it was a silly moment. Ken acted like a child, lost again this week just gone and the media drove it, Hawthorn don’t really care about it.Whattaboutism is diverting to protect someone or an idea. I'm not saying Kenny wasn't a dick - a funny dick but a dick nonetheless. It's Hawks whattabouting - back to Kenny and only Kenny whenever Sicily's part in it is brought up.
The bolded is perfect. And it's all the Hawks should have said regarding Sic- rather than running with pride. Who gives a shit if he got really emotional and found an outlet that was ultimately harmless after a gutting loss, but it's not a thing to be proud of, or to be encouraging - if we're going with "bad look" and think of the kids who will copy - which seems to be the angle with Kenny - don't encourage Sicily's response.
Agree. I really enjoy that sort of rubbish. Very entertaining, harmless and thus good for the game. With more entertainment to come as it gts replayed and makes your future clashes more spicy.Looking back it doesn’t matter, this will boost the rivalry along with two close finishes. One individual pretended to be a plane and flapped their wingsAgree. I really enjoy that sort of rubbish. Very entertaining, harmless and thus good for the game. With more entertainment to come as it gts replayed and makes your future clashes more spicy.
But clearly we disagree about who was acting more like a child. They probably all were really, but i'd order it in terms of immaturity of actions:
1. Sicily
2. Ken
3. Ginni
You'd probably have Ken 1.
One had a proper good old fashioned dummy spit after a loss. One individual pretended to be a plane and flapped their wings
Pretty simple to work out who was immature
OkOne had a proper good old fashioned dummy spit after a loss.
Sicily told Ken to shut the **** up and that his club under his coaching has done **** all, which is true. Ken started first having a go at Ginnivan who gave him nothing and continued with “you’re not flying you cheeky little ****” he definitely acted worse off, especially flapping his arms and running around like a planeAgree. I really enjoy that sort of rubbish. Very entertaining, harmless and thus good for the game. With more entertainment to come as it gts replayed and makes your future clashes more spicy.
But clearly we disagree about who was acting more like a child. They probably all were really, but i'd order it in terms of immaturity:
1. Sicily
big gap
2. Ken
3. Ginni
Whereas most Hawks would probably have:
1. Ken
2 Ginni
And might not even include Sic in there.
, Sicily just returned it. Which I don’t care tbh cause it’s theatre but from a players pov, it would be different.“Hawks expressing pride”It's over now - a very funny event - so I thought I'd sum up my feelings on it:
Funny - laughing with them
Ginnivan's tweet
Kenny's response
The picture of Ken in aeroplane mode photoshopped on a surfboard with "See you in Bali"
Funny - laughing at them
Sicily's dummy spit
Hawk outrage over Kenny from some past players, coach and some fans
Hawks expressing pride about Sicily's dummy spit
I think most non-Hawks would read it as Ken took the piss pretty innocuously and Sicily, Mitchell, and some Hawk ex-players got really triggered by it.“Hawks expressing pride”
Supporters back the team because Ken acted like a clown, Sam was the only one outside of the situation to comment and all he said was he backed his players and moved on. The past players had similar opinions to some who weren’t and were normal media people, so it’s hardly substantial. Coach didn’t outrage, and fans can do what they want.
Ken acted like a clown child, especially flapping his arms like a plane and then abusing Ginnivan by calling him a little **** wit. Doubt it bothers Ginni much but still over the line.
Dunno how Sicilys response can be seen as a dummy spit tho? “Shut the **** up” and telling him how he has achieved nothing and that he should pipe down (which worked) is funny and reasonable given the situation.
I’m not sure prides the word, James and Sam both said they wish it didn’t happen but back each other in, especially Sam with saying he backed his captain and players. Ken acted like a clown so Sicily had a jab at his lack of success, it wasn’t much more than that, media driving it that there was.I think most non-Hawks would read it as Ken took the piss pretty innocuously and Sicily, Mitchell, and some Hawk ex-players got really triggered by it.
The pride I'm referring to is both Sammy and James expressing their pride in James for it.
But clearly we're not going to agree.
It was hilarious looking at it again todayGeez, read a few pages, Hawks supporters are a touchy, sooky lot
Hinkley/Ginnivan exchange was great... funny, amusing... bit of colour.
But the funniest, is Sicily, being fake held back... really, what was he going to do, belt Hinkley.
Anyway, Hawks had a great year and they are looking good
Proud was Sam's word - not mine:I’m not sure prides the word, James and Sam both said they wish it didn’t happen but back each other in, especially Sam with saying he backed his captain and players. He was proud of his captain standing up for his teammates but he wouldn’t have been proud of the situation. It’s different.Proud was Sam's word - not mine:
" I’m really really proud of our captain who would’ve been just as emotional. Who was able to stand up and lead in a way that he could be proud of.”
Sicilys too:
I will stick up for them regardless of who is in the right or the wrong. It is something I pride myself on and I don’t regret it one bit really.
I can see why you'd want to believe that distinction in what Sammy said. But it's certainly not what Sammy said, he said he was very proud of "the way" Sicily carried on. Perhaps he misspoke. He was proud of his captain standing up for his teammates but he wouldn’t have been proud of the situation. It’s different.
Sticking up for your mates, teammates etc is something I’d be proud to do aswell.
