Apparently has had similar problems before (which is the bit that worries me), back related stress fractures I think is. Pretty similar to what Rivers has had is it?

Pretty early doors I know but we haven't gone and recruited another Moloney/Rivers/Whelan have we?

Worth noting the played taken after him, Brett Ebert, has 22 possies the other day over in the West.

They have to be very carefull with the stress fractures in his back because he is still growing, If he came back to early and injured his back again he could do some very serious damage to it.

Not the end of the world, playing him wouldn't be worth it. Think it's more a case of good risk management then oh no he's severely injured.

I really don't want him to be another Sylvia or Moloney. We can't afford to have another gun midfielders career torn apaqrt throug injury.

This kid had better be good because I'm still dirty we didn't take Alex Rance at #14.

I was aswell for a while but have come to realise that Frawley will be a premier fullback in years to come and, that Rance probably wasnt even worth a top 20 pick in last years draft and his hype came about from people on this board blowing smoke up his ass, claiming that we need a 'Gorilla Tamer'

Our very own "Superdraft" first rounder.

You beauty CAC.

As of last year the guy had gone from Melbourne to Frankston Dolphins to some suburban team all without getting on the park due to injury. How is that a recruiter's fault?

Not so much purely for the Molan pick, but our superdraft as a whole was pretty atrocious as it turns out.

Taking a tall with such an early pick has always been a dodgy thing to do though, many of the best KPPs in the business have been late picks, its obviously harder to pick at that age. Should have gone with a smaller option in hindsight.

I did fancy Rance but Grimes has good wraps on himself as well so I'll trust our recruiters...for now.

I'm not sold on Frawley yet as being our "Gorilla tamer". So far I can't see him developing more than a Rivers-like build. Rivers can do reasonably well on gorillas due to his superb skill, some of which was on display today. Does Frawley have that skill? I bloody well hope so and he'll need it if he doesn't get the bulk. Physically, Stefan Martin looks more promising as our next big (literally) thing in defence.

I say let the man get fit and play before we start ruing the decision NOT to take the ******* relation to Chris Tarrant. The amount of coulda, shoulda's that happen in drafts are too many to count. He's at the club now, jump on the 'Grimey' (as he likes to be called) bandwagon, and ride it all the way to Premiership glory!!

I can see where you're coming from, but if you look at Darren Glass he's not the most physically imposing full back yet he's probably the best running around. I have faith in the recruiting staff on this one, Chip looks the goods, he has pace, a lot of heart and can hopefully learn how to use the footy. Confidence is the key

Rivers had Ostietis Pubis, not stress fractures. Grimes has had stress fractures before as young kid when his workload at the Nothern Knights was over loaded. The same thing may have happened here, the step up from u18's to AFL has caused the injury to flare again. Have faith the kid can play.

Darren Glass does alright on Barry Hall, JB and co. And he is only 192cm and 93 kg. Similar players, so similar in fact that West Coast were probably going to take him with their first pick

I am really looking forward to watching Grimey play his first game. Could he be a Chris Judd type who will adjust to the elite level straight away?
