It was always kick to kick at my school.
Yeah we had K2K aswell. Not that it matters one iota but I was somehow under the impression there was one kicker in 'marks up' and K2K was two big packs of smelly kids kicking it to each other. Which leads me to the greatest of all schoolyard games.........

BRITISH BULLDOGS!

Markers up?? Is it a colouring contest??

'Marks up' I can have but to me it's always been "Jack".

When I went to school it was kick to kick , 2 groups of maybe 20-40 at each end a a few footys. On asphalt so the footys were turned inside out so there was an edge on the seam to protect the ball.

My boys played markers up which was a smaller game with one kicking and 2-3 or 4 marking. Was a much smaller game. When I was at school there was no way 4-5 kids were getting a footy to themselves.

Marker's Up, never heard of Jack in the Pack until now. Best game at our school was basically a mixture of British Bulldogs and keeping's off. Year 12 vs Years 7-11. Despite being significantly outnumbered (probably by about 5/6-1) was definitely the most fun as Year 12's.

King of the Pack:footy:
