Adelaide have greater needs right now than another tall forward..
Its been a shocking year but there are a few factors that would have the crows confident that they can be contenders for the flag again next year;
1) they get brodie smith back. Arguably their best player and the general off half back that drives all their run.
2) theyd be hoping their fortunes on the injury front change next year.
3) they get brad crouch back.. another massive loss this season. Speed and class in the midfield. Compounded by the loss of sloane for half the year too but we did gain gibbs..
4) they’ll finish well outside the 8 this year and thus get a soft draw next season.. if they recapture their 2017 form and have fewer injuries... but this time have it with a soft draw.. look out, theyll be a lock for a top 2.
Adelaide have Tex, JJ, Lynch, Gov, Fog, dear and himmelburg as their tall forwards.. and spots for only 3-4 in the 22 for these players.. dear will go and MAYBE mitch mcgovern if the rumour is true..
add lukosious and thats still too many talls to find spots for.
They need elite mids and an xfactor small forward/mid to help eddie out.. and thats another thing missing this year... EDDIE!!!... had an injury and form interupted season.. probably only has a season or two at the most left in him.. more reason to find that xfactor replacement for him this year.
people have written the crows off this year and rightly so.. but they were decimated by injury to a lot of their best 22 players.. they were the most damaging side last year by a country mile and will return fresh and ready next year.. dont count them out.
Sure.. theyd love lukosious but do they really need him for what they would feel is a very good chance at a flag next year?.. rather get rankine and one of hately or rozee.
I voted above that lukocious will go to Carlton, if not, the suns (if carlton goes for Walsh) and adelaide will target rankine and deal with the club that picks him in live trades.. then grab a couple of good midfield prospects with their remaining picks..
Honestly... where does anyone see jack lukosious fitting into adelaides forward line from round 1 2019???... who moves aside for him?. Best let him go and trade for him in a couple of years from now when tex, lynch and JJ are close to retiring.
