It is likely..although Carlton appear just as likely to take walsh so pick 2 might secure Lukosius - but it will be one of those 2 picks and not beyond imo

It is the Crows best chance to try to get their hands on pick 2 via Gold Coast. It is the angle I expect Crows try to work on in trade period. But who knows, Port might be working on their own one. Hinkley links back to Gold Coast could help them a little.

I would be stunned if the Blues took Walsh. Trading up to 2 and you would be a massive chance to miss Lukosius.

You do have good picks this year however to put something in front of the Blues. But SOS would be under a lot of pressure if he gave up this kid.

Yeah..seems most probable. Re Port, it would have to be players for that pick as they only have their 1st rounder and that is likely a pick in the low - mid teens. Maybe Dixon wants to go back there....

There has been a lot of chatter coming from Carlton supporters on that and it is fairly mixed between taking walsh or lukosius..although what the club itself does???? I think their best strategy is to trade the pick for a few picks to go after good players or a pick and player(s) that will improve them next year and help the heap of kids they already have from the last 3-4 drafts to get more competitive

Clubs can be way more creative than that. If Port go hard for pick 2, they can get it done.

other than players, what else can they offer if they don't have suitable picks..to offer to do Carlton's laundry for the next 5 years?

I do not think they will be dealing with us. They be dealing with Port and after seeing Gold Coast give pick 2 away last year to Freo for Weller, you would be keeping your mind very open to lots of various ways to get a pick 2 from Gold Coast. If Port to decide to go down that path, Crows will have a bit of a challenge to get pick 2 from Gold Coast with Port doing the same.

Pick 1 - Walsh (Carlton)
Pick 2 - Lukosius (Gold Coast)
Pick 3 - Smith (Gold Coast)
Pick 4 - Ben King (St Kilda)
Pick 5 - Rankine (Brisbane)
Pick 6 - Max King (Western Bulldogs)

Blakey to be bid on somewhere in there as well.
Not sure Brisbane needs another small forward after drafting Cameron and Bailey last year could see Brisbane bidding on Blakey

Be ironic if port did end up with pick 2 due to their connections with Dew and the crows ended up with Brisbanes pick 3 (or 4 if GC get / take a compo pick for lynch) and Luko goes at pick 1 (Carlton), Rankine at 2 (Port), Walsh at 3 (compo pick to GC)...I would be putting in a bid on Blakey and if that gets matched, then smith...or maybe trade that pick down to ensure Rozee and Hately

Probably what you should do.

3 way deal maybe between GC, Adelaide & Carlton? - The Roar posters discussing possibilities and maybe something like this could be suitable? Carlton pick 1 to Adelaide and get back Mitch McGovern (if he wants to go) or Adelaide's pick 13 (if McGovern is not part of the deal) and pick 3 (GC compo pick from Lynch). Goldcoast get Adelaide's pick 8 and Atkins for the compo pick 3 to Carlton....
Surely Adelaide wouldn't send McGovern and pick three for pick one, and I'm certain Gold Coast would laugh at that trade from their end. A downgrade from 8 to 3 in exchange for a decent flanker who has struggled now that he can't be Adelaide's 22nd man.

I think there will be a bid on Blakey before your pick, but he will be at Sydney anyway. Fair point. You are well stocked in that department. Who do you think you will go for? Maybe Max King if he is still available then? Replace Schache.

Yeah..it might not be atkins although he has been a mainstay with the crows for the last couple of seasons and he would offer speed, it could be a greenwood or say Hartigan - guys that are in the crows team but might see more opportunity long term at GC and could step straight in and make GC better

For an downgrade of such a high pick, I think the Suns would be looking for two players in that range as well as a later pick swap in their favour. Objectively, Atkins, Greenwood and Hartigan are all worth second or early third round picks. Obviously, they need to load up on capable bodies to protect their younger guys, but they can probably find a few similar players at their true value.

Carlton: McGovern, Pick 8, Pick 26
Adelaide: Pick 1, Pick 37

I could see that being done, provided McGovern has any interest in joining Carlton.

maybe..McGovern, pick 8 and the carlton 2nd rounder from the gibbs deal for Pick 1 and the Adelaide 2nd rounder from the gibbs deal?

Based on my ladder predictor picks 9 (Crows) and 14 (Melbourne) to Brisbane or the Saints for pick 4 or 5. Then McGovern and 4 or 5 to Carlton for 1 and 37.

I don't think Carlton would want to miss out on the big 4.

Won't happen. Why would we go out of our way to give up pick one to get once in generation player to get McGovern when we got plenty of tall forwards more exciting already ? Off with the fairies. If McGovern leaving Crows it will probably be to Fremantle or West Coast and most likely Fremantle as Eagles got plenty of tall forwards themselves.

We're probably still planning on drafting Midfielders with rumors Suns like the King twins and Luko going at 1 this scenario
1.Luko-Carlton
2.King B-Suns
3.King M-Suns
4.Walsh-Saints
5.Smith-Lions
6.Rankine-Doggies

Where has the rumor of Suns wanting both Kings come from?

Is more just BF posters not really wanting a tall that is going to take 5 years to come on and therefore dumping them on the Suns

Yeah, someone posted on one of these threads that the King twins don't want to go interstate. While that probably doesn't stop an interstate club from drafting them, it would be unlikely that Suns would use picks 2 & 3 on them. I think the Suns will be looking to take at least one of those mids. You might get lucky, but chances are Smith and Walsh are gone before pick 5. But you might still get pick 4, never know what Suns will do about Lynch.

Both Cal Twomey and Brent Harvey have mentioned it and Both (King Twins) we're on Tac Cup future stars on Sunday maybe a rumor I think they believe both May and Lynch will leave
