A softer forward line has never been seenYou could play all 4 - Lukosius, Georgiades, Marshall and Whitlock- in good weather. But on a slippery, wet day/night, no.
Even MG, amazing player but he relies on acceleration, not 1:1 strength

The big mistake was putting Hartlett in charge of the sloppy seconds. It’s emblematic of the sloppiness which has defined the way we’ve approached the season.
Sloppy preparation, sloppy rehab, sloppy selections, sloppy game style, sloppy skill execution.
Boak had 22 possies at 90% DE.Agreed, our skills in general are bog average. I watched Port closely last night and some of our H/B that missed the target was terrible and it wasn't only the young guys, Wines although he played a reasonable game as did Boak were two of the main offenders.
As for DBJ I am confused, some games he's saving goals and kicking goals but last night H/B errors and in and out of the game.
For Carr to succeed I am convinced we need a pure skills coach for kicking hand balling and marking and a good tackling coach, to many opposition players break our tackles way to easy.
This is the wrong thread to discuss this but I will reply to you. The last thing I have to say on the subject.Boak had 22 possies at 90% DE.
Just how close did you actually watch the game?

Firstly, you posted your comment IN THIS THREAD, so how is this the wrong thread to reply to?This is the wrong thread to discuss this but I will reply to you. The last thing I have to say on the subject.
How closely did you read my previous post, do you actually read all the posts or just selective ones.
Read my post above, even a Boak fan knows that he played a much better game after announcing his retirement. A good player and example of fitness for his peers but he's no Selwood or Bartel.
Westhoff - Gray & Schulz all gave there all for the club and loyal to Port Adelaide so why the difference, Schulz used to play with terrible injuries for the team, Westhoff was used in any position on the ground with no complaints and how many times did Robbie save the coaches job.
These players realised that it was a privilege to play for Port and AFL, not the other way around.
I appreciate what Boak has done for the club but he didn't do it for free, he was handsomely paid.
I congratulate him on a long loyal career but I wouldn't class him as special. He has unfortunately become part of the softness a mediocrity of the Hinkley era.
I look forward to some fresh air so the club can get back to winning and make it about the club and supporters, not individuals.
Okay.Firstly, you posted your comment IN THIS THREAD, so how is this the wrong thread to reply to?
Secondly, I did actually read your post. You posted "Wines although he played a reasonable game as did Boak were two of the main offenders." What part of this did I mis-read?
And lastly, when has Boak or the club make it about him?
Unfortunately many on this board think like you and have tarred Boak with the Hinlkey feather and are blind to anything else. To suggest he is just a 'good' player is prove of that.
Hopefully in the fullness of time and Hinkley is a distant memory, you may re-assess.
Then again, maybe you won't.

jhf delievered more for the team in about a quarter with a broken foot than lukosius did all yearany player can get injured at anytime look at JHF and could happen with Butters
He's got some fantastic tools. I think he could be a gun as a Sicily style defender. Not physical enough for kpf.jhf delievered more for the team in about a quarter with a broken foot than lukosius did all year
the port version luko makes marshall look like the incredible hulk
good thing hes done with being a kpdHe's got some fantastic tools. I think he could be a gun as a Sicily style defender. Not physical enough for kpf.
Yeah, I've heard he doesn't like it. But I still think it's his future.good thing hes done with being a kpd
if his future is in defence - and we have no intentions of ever playing him there - his future cant be hereYeah, I've heard he doesn't like it. But I still think it's his future.
If you don't perform well enough in the intended role they recruited you for, they try you in a different role.if his future is in defence - and we have no intentions of ever playing him there - his future cant be here
And to think we gave the Meter Maids a first round pick for the pleasure.jhf delievered more for the team in about a quarter with a broken foot than lukosius did all year

I think he'd probably retire before being forced to do thatIf you don't perform well enough in the intended role they recruited you for, they try you in a different role.
If he succeeds as a forward, it's happy days - if not he'll be tried in other roles.

He's on a million dollars a year and did his calf twice like he's a 35 year old manRubbish.
The disrespect on this board from some people towards Lukosius is ridiculous.
All things considered (I.e. being his first year with the club, his injury record preventing him from getting a clear run at it to build form, and playing as a KPF in the dumpster fire that was 2025 Port) Luko showed more signs of being a good to great forward for us in future, rather than being a dud bust.
Going game by game:
- Round 2 v Collingwood: a poor game, but a key forward could be forgiven for playing poorly in a 90 point belting. Still kicked a goal despite this, and it being his first game in a new team.
- Round 3 v Richmond: injured within the first 30 seconds of the game.
- Round 18 v Brisbane: as tough an assignment as you can get in a return from a significant amount of time off due to iniury (away against the premiers). Looked great and kicked 3.
- Round 19 v West Coast: an admittedly anonymous / poor game from him and the only one I think is indefensible.
- Round 20 v Hawthorn: A good bounce back game. Kicked 2.1 in a game that was not built for KPFs at all (probably the most severe wind I’ve ever seen in a game) and was by far our most dangerous forward on the day.
- Round 21 v Adelaide: A poor game in which he went down injured. Wasn’t alone out there and was again playing in monsoon conditions that aren’t typically KPF friendly.
- Round 22 v Freo: Was having a good game and kicked 2 goals before going down injured in the third quarter.
So of the 7 games he played this season, even if you want to be a harsh critic, he had 3 good games, 3 poor ones, and one where he was injured too early to tell.
Considering all of the factors at play for him (as listed above: first season for us, no time to build form / gel with the team due to injury, playing KPF in our injury riddled shit side this year, etc) I think that’s a perfectly fine return.
Now, he may not kick on next season - but to suggest he’s a dud / non entity based on the sample size at Port so far this season, is just silly.
He’ll be a good player for us. People need to chill.
Lukoisus and Rozee are whipping boys here. BFF's and all. This forum always has a whipping boy and now Burton is gone Luko is odds on to be the replacement,

Until he proves he can get his body right and dominate we've overpaid and continue to... by a lot
I wouldn't have an issue if he was on 6-750 but he's likely nearing double that and also cost us a top 10 pick.
He should be easily top 5 key forwards with the money he's on
As has been highlighted earlier in the thread, the trade of a F1 for Luko was done on the reasonable assumption that we’d be finishing around the top end of the ladder and it would’ve been a pick that landed 15+ in a draft we clearly didn’t rate. He's on a million dollars a year and did his calf twice like he's a 35 year old man
