Wont even bother

Bother with what?

More pearlers like Gold Coast should force uncontracted players into the draft so as to redraft them again wasting picks in the process?

It'll never happen, it'll go to mediation just like what happened with Ryder when the Dons wanted to be pr***s about it.

Comedy gold mate.

Agree with the first sentence but the second one made me vomit in my mouth. Casbolt is a spud
Levi is certainly no spud,in fact one of the best contested marks in the comp. Problem is from GC's perspective he only has a limited shelf life. Also who is to say he has any wish to move up to the Gold Coast.

Im not saying the refuse to trade him out of spite but more so they cant agree on a trade value such as Prestia pick #6 they wouldnt budge and Richmond ended up paying it at the end.

If GC suns say 1st rounder or say pick #10 and wont budge similar to the prestia deal then what does carlton do ?
Oh ffs

They say no. He’s not ******* Stephen Kernahan.

After the year Casboult had I’d be surprised if Carlton made him part of the trade with Martin. He has reinvented himself as one of the competitions top swingmen, playing dominant roles forward and back.

More likely a player like Phillips could be part of the trade as many clubs, including GCS, are looking for back up ruckmen.

The deal will get done..

He won't be part of the trade unless he wants to be. The media reckons an unofficial offer has been made to him by GCS. Ball is in his court. He has that 1 year option there for him.

Congrats to everyone in this thread for seamlessly slipping into their roles to allow this to be just like every single other thread ever on this page.
For those that need a reminder of their role in the script.
Pre nomination:
Current club fan: he’s not going anywhere, clearly required!
Prospective club fan: would love to have him, seems to be a great bloke/player

Post nomination:
Current club fan: he’s the best player on our list, it’ll cost you massively
Nominated club fan: he’s okay but only if we pay very little for him
Rejected club fan: he’s not a good fit for us anyway/didn’t really want him BUT nominated club should pay through the nose

Post trade
Old club: haha you losers he sucks and is a terrible bloke and you paid overs
New club: haha we got him so cheap sucked in old club this guy will win 3 brownlows
Rejected clubs: glad he didn’t choose us he really is a terrible player/person and the price was way too high.

Never change anyone

Like you’re trying really hard. But you just...can’t....hide....it.

‘Go Blues’ hey.
Hide what ??

Mate nothing we say influences anything and i just put up scenario's on what could happen

Nahh GC will have to let Martin go for 2020 2nd rounder , Hes uncontracted ................ Is that better the same rinse repeat ?

A scenario you probably haven't thought of.

Casboult has an extension let's assume has to be mutually agreeable not to auto extend. GC could offer casboult enough to trigger band 3 compo which would be pick 22 which could be traded to GC for Martin with some future pick swap to make it look legit.

Of course I have no idea who or what the trigger clause for casboults contract extension are.

Martin Season
Drop him due to lack of effort as he checked out mid season.

Martin Pre nomination
Wish Sun let him go the last year, he was not mentally in it this year

Martin Post nomination
Give us 1st round pick due to his elite talent, prime age, top 3 B&F 2x

Martin Post trade
Good luck to him, have some doubts how he will survive Melbourne bubble

I am sorry but you are dead set bonkers if you think Martin is worth a pick under 20.

His only selling point is that the clubs looking to pick him up would be hoping they can fix him and turn him into the player he looked like becoming as a junior because right now with his lack of application he looks more likely to be delisted within 2 years then producing something worthy of a 1st round pick.

FWIW, If you think Papley is worth pick 8 that makes Martin worth about pick 40, younger and he actually hits the scoreboard.
So a pick under 20 is bonkers but you say his worth is about pick 40. Umm yeah ok champ

Why do you think that Suns would like to have Casboult? He will be 30 years old next before season 2020 and was borderline delisted material the last couple of years and right up until midseason this year. Yes, he had some good games later on surprisingly also in defence. He's depth for Carlton if some of your talls go down. Keep him.

Probably better than 2 metre Peter

Prestia averaged between 25-27 possessions per game for 4 straight seasons, including a season averaging 27+ and playing all 22 games.

Perhaps brush up on your own club.
He played 14 and 8 games in his last 2 seasons at the Suns and only ever played 22 in 1 of his 6 seasons and had terrible disposal efficiency. Back to the drawing board mate

Had injuries, but not wildly inconsistent as you claimed. Stop trying to rewrite history champ. Theres a reason you got a top pick for him, he had runs on the board.

Pick 4 may have been handy here

Trade 4 into 11 & ~13 from GWS (they get ahead of the Green bid) with some late pick swapping for points.

11 for Papley
13 for Martin
But then no Stocker.

Question for Blues fans (we faced this last year with Shiel)
If its one or the other, who do you prefer?

Obviously Papley.

But if Martin wants to come it'll get done regardless.

Been answered 3 times already lol. Papley by a mile (just because of need).

Plenty of clubs like next year's draft more
Where have you heard this? Next year's draft is severely compromised and doesn't have any real standout players during their underage year like Rankine or Rowell.

Is there something wrong with next years 2nd round pick?
Aside from it being a compromised draft, Martin's value is probably about pick 18-20. This year's 2nd would have probably done it, but Carlton could shoot up the table next year and the future second could be in the late 20s. And I don't think trading it will get the Suns a comparable player to Martin.
