They have different abilities Yeah? Nick has endurance, but Jack is a far better kick and has taken more marks inside 50 marks than anyone in the last 10 years so I don't think you can say he is a bad mark either, Jack tackles more their is a reason he is a 3x premiership player & it's not just because of the team he is in he had big part to play in building the team.
I love it when one eyed supporters quote premierships. It's a team game, Jack and Nick played on completely different teams. Do you think that if Jack was swapped with Nick in those premiership teams, he wouldn't be a 3x premiership player? It's like saying Marlion Pickett is better than Nathan Jones because he has 2 premierships.

"So much better" is a dumb option imho
Your response is a dumb option imho

Nick was by the better player. Only a fool would argue otherwise.
100%

Surprised at how short people's memories are

Nick peaked as arguably the best player in the league.

Jack peaked as arguably a top 15-20 player in the league.

Theres just a gulf in between their peaks that no amount of longevity from Jack can change.

Roo being a 6 time B&F winner compared to Jack’s 0 illustrates my point clearly.

Nick played for 17 seasons and was named AA 10 years apart. He's going Jack on longevity atm.

Yeah wasn’t suggesting Jack had him in that area either. Just wanted to point out that unless Jack goes to another level there is nothing he can do to alter the result of the poll.

Well he has 3 flags and performed in all of them.
Saying Nick is better than Jack is fine, probably right.
Saying it's not close, in 2021, is embarrassing.

Jack Riewoldt has never threatened being a top 5 player in the competition for me and Riewoldt was arguably the best player in the comp in multiple seasons.

Richmond fans can point to goal tallies and premierships all they want but there is a clear gap between the two.

Jack has won 3 Coleman medals, with 8 years between first and last. There are 12 other players in history to win the award 3 times, and only 5 others have won the award so many years apart. He is in elite company for his consistency and longevity as a key forward. He won a Coleman medal playing for both the wooden spooner and the minor premier. He started his career as an elite goalkicker, then reinvented himself into a superstar team player. His role in our 2017 premiership cannot be understated - without his work as a sole target up forward, our entire game plan breaks down. Nick is probably better. But it’s pretty close.

No one in the history of the V/AFL has taken more marks than Nick?????????
That's like saying the guy who's had the most kicks ever is the best kick ever, it's not necessarily true. Jack is a better mark than Nick, but Nick got a lot more on those long searching leads.

BTW I still vote Nick over their careers as a player, but it gets closer each year and there's certainly a number of areas of the game Jack is better.

Hits the nail for me. If we've already seen Jack's best, without surpassing it from here, we can call this one Nick's way. Doesn't matter how good Jack's team is and how many flags he contributes to from here; as a player, Nick was just better than what we've seen from Jack. No slight. Nick was an out and out champ.
