I've only seen him play a couple of mediocre games for Tassie, and up forward.

For those more lerned ("It's lerned Pepi, learned"), just when has he shown versatility in going back? Champs? Tassie? How successful has he been at shutting down his opponent? How do his pace limitations affecct his chase and spoil? What is his reach like and can he get fists in? How would he go against Fevola?

Disagree with both of you.

He's a very talent kid who has many useful talents.

Exactly what does he lack that would prevent him from being worth a 1st round pick?

He sounds pretty good to me from what I've read.

Richmond will take him at #13 if he's available. I recall reading Terry Wallaces' interest in him during the finals this year. I think that's may be part of the reason they were happy to swap pick 8 & 13 because it was likely that Reiwoldt might still be available at 13 anyway.

But that said, all recruiters would have spoken to most possible 1st rounders on a few occasions.

Where do you find those icons that indicate that your taking the piss out of stupid Collingwood supporters.

It's probably where the icon of Carlton finishing in the bottom 4 for 10 years in a row is.

We should definately pick up a mid with 8 or 10 and then use the other one to get the best available (as long as it isn't a HB).

I have a feeling that we are going to take Seller over Reiwoldt. I know people don't really rate Seller that much because he had a bad under 18's championship. I watched a video on him lately and he looks like what we need. He can ruck which is what we really need then he can probably go forward or back. So if he is thyere at 8 we will take him i think.

Collingwood are extremely keen on Riewoldt in no this for a fact. If he's avalible at pick 10 the pies will take him. He'd love to go to Collingwood aswell with Ilo being their :thumbsu:

Are you aware of any other teams that have expressed interest in Riewoldt?

Overblown - He'd be as quick over 5-10m as Gumbleton, IMO, though his strength and play-reading ability aren't elite like Gumbleton's.

He's more athletic than Josh Kennedy from last year, for comparison.
Gumbleton's pace is actually a query in itself. I'm pretty sure that it's why Wiz doesn't have him in his top 3.

I've seen Riewoldt less than you, but I just don't see how he's worthy of a top ten pick, and the draft camp results further solidify my initial impressions.

I just don't see what his athletic ability, which is quite frankly being exaggerated in terms of how supposedly "poor" it is, is going to prevent him from doing at AFL level.

His pace is not elite, but it is good enough for AFL level, comfortably. His leap is quite solid. His hands are very strong, especially in contested situations. He reads the play well and has no trouble getting involved in the game. He can kick goals as well as set them up, or play as a marking defender.

It's not to say that he's a guaranteed superstar, but a lot of you act as though he's the only player in the mix for the first round that has any flaws.

It's not about whether he has any flaws. It's about whether he is likely to be a better player than the others he is competing with. We are after a mid and possibly a Ruck/KPP. If we are deciding between one of the mids that should be available and Riewoldt and it is thought that the mid might be a better player we should pick the mid. Even if it means two mids with our first two picks.
