Possibly. Possibly not.I will if people keep suggesting it. It’s nearly illogical that they keep for a year and then let him go for less than they paid for him.

I could free up at least 8 list spots for S Hill in my head immediately.List spots are tight already because we have a heavy youth brigade. I'd rather rookie young Milne or Voss and see if we can find a diamond in the rough than list another injury bust. Put him on as a coach if he wants a job.
I guess we’ll see how it plays out.Exactly. That’s why they will keep him and hope he stays long term.

I bet you don't drink...Dont drink or bet that is for mugs
why? If he wants to play with us, why would you hope he stays long term?Exactly. That’s why they will keep him and hope he stays long term.
Generous IMO.I could free up at least 8 list spots for S Hill in my head immediately.
Because you live in hope and they don’t gain anything losing him this year so why wouldn’t you keep him. Things do change. And it shows other who are recruited by the golf coast you have to at least finish your contract. That is probably the most important thing of allwhy? If he wants to play with us, why would you hope he stays long term?
Generous to the ones I didn’t put from 8-12.Generous IMO.
it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that Bing...Generous to the ones I didn’t put from 8-12.
I am using contract law. Wont say it will happen but manipulation of contract law by the AFL would be a scandal.
Wonder if Gill would enjoy a stint inside the big house.
And before you emotionally respond with 'that wont happen' I am just pointing out contract manipulation and duress. Corps Law could also get a run [emoji15][emoji6]
Or punt.I bet you don't drink...

Oh keep up gringo. A third party leaning on two contracted parties with threats of repercussion is coersion. How is it manipulation of a contract? Doesn't he have a GC contract for next year? That would mean they can hold him to it. I reckon even if the AFL don't step in they will play hard ball. Lukosius and Rankine are likely to want out as well. They need to stick a wall up and hope the kids get used to being there.
If the club doesn’t try this year, they need to sack everyone involved.I’m not arguing about the end of next year. I’m just saying I doubt we even try this year.
My anaconda don’t want none unless you got Bing hun.it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that Bing...

To not even ask the question is just complete stupidity.
Depends on how it’s displayed to the outside world really. If he’s so homesick it’s effecting his day to day life, then of course they facilitate a fair trade.Maybe we might be advised by the AFL to wait or maybe we will just show goodwill to Ben or maybe even Max has said lets just let him finish his contract. Even if we try it just going to happen because Gold Coast can only lose face if they let a 1st year contracted player go. Its just not happening.
I reckon the AFL would make him stand out of footy for a year then!RE Ben King being traded this year it would depend on the circumstances.
Boyd was incredibly home sick & the rumours at the time were that he was returning to Melbourne no matter what. He’d packed his bags & walked out the door. And we know about his troubled history since & now he’s retired largely to his poor mental health.
We saw what happened with McCarthy when he wasn’t released from his contract. He didn’t play the following season, took time off, returned to Perth & was traded the following year.
Many are saying that Jack Steven will be released from his contract due to his personal circumstances.
Hypothetically, what if Ben was homesick just like Boyd, being an identical twin likely comes with its own nuances. He could pack his bags, head home & not return either way. Would the AFL/GC block the trade given those circumstances?
I don’t believe there’s a definitive answer & as I stated it will come down to the individuals circumstances.

I would be very surprised if Ben King is allowed to leave at the end of this year
Whether it be by the AFL or Gold Coast!
Have no doubt he wants to come home and play with his brother, i just can't see it happening this year!
To be honest the end of next year suits us better anyway imo, we need to address more pressing needs
This off season and get some serious onball talent in!
Plus all the rumours suggesting we are also targetting other ruckmen leads me to believe we are
Not bringing Ben in this year!
Don't get me wrong i want him! Just think it makes more sense when the lad is a little more well rounded
With the benefit of having 2 years in the system!
As for Stuv, reckon he is gone for sure sadly. It's just now down to seeing whether we can get anywhere
Near decent compensation for him!
