Really hope the footy world unites on this. If he gets snubbed out it sends the message that players are required to squib any contest that could cause damage to another player

Lets not forget that those guys you quoted and 99% of other people have common sense.

The AFL, the MRP and the Tribunal are run by clueless morons that want nothing more than to ruin our once great game

I wonder if the Adelaide Crows doctor has overdramatzied their injury report again like that time Jack Trrengove perfectly tackled Patrick Dangerfield who didnt have the balls to get up straight away

Melbourne won that game too, btw.

The Douglas hit on Ward was graded High impact. Ward took no further part in the game, but was able to resume the following week and was close to BOG. Lynch has had his jaw broken and won't play for 6 weeks. If that's not severe, then short of homicide, I don't know what is.

Lynch ran into Viney. He will know better next time.

nathan schmook and matt thompson always come across as the MRP's winged monkeys than objective "journalists" in that charged section. Was Clarkson right?

I cannot believe how soft Lynch is. Anyone got or know where to find the Wojynski hit on Viney just wondering how hard you have to get hit in the jaw to not be soft, also how fast Viney bounced up from the hit.

Injury prone player gets injured playing footy/shocked!

Wojo/Viney incident is on the tube. Viney was fine, he wanted to play on.

Lynch will someday learn not to run into other players.

I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Viney looks to divert his path straight into Lynch and collects him high and causes an accidental head clash? Alternatives or not he had time to turn and brace but nothing else?

What is bracing whilst moving forward called?

So people wanted Viney to stand there, not brace for contact and risk getting his own jaw broken again? He had his jaw broken when David Wojcinski hit him in a VFL game so excuse him for wanting to protect himself!!!

Anyway he took the hit off 2 bigger guys, bounced up won, burst through an opponent and delivered to a teammate

Best young midfielder in the comp, and hes ours. Love it.

All this post does is highlight that he's not actually tougher than superman, he was just the only one in this contest that didn't cop the hit in the head.

I'm pleased that you're pleased that Viney's shoulder is tougher than Lynch and Georgios's head.

1. Did choose to bump.
2. Using a player's own momentum against them is still a bump.
3. Contact was expected. It was still high, resulting in Lynch receiving a head injury.
4. Completely irrelevant.
So going by your logic why wasn't Lynch charged for his head making contact with Georgiou's head?
Lynch could have pulled out of the contest and allowed Viney to take control of the ball but chose to contest the ball knowing that Georgiou was right behind him and if he made contact with Viney there was a good chance that Georgiou could be impacted by that contact.

Lynch chose to bump Viney
As a result of this bump Georgiou had to contact made with his head and saw him leave the ground under the concussion rule
Lynch should be charged should he not?

this?
What broke the jaw the tackle or the punch?

this guy gets it

Caused a broken jaw (Lynch) bump to the head 3-6 weeks on the injury list, also 2 concussion tests (Lynch and Georgio). Against a precedent from a fortnight ago of no head clash Douglas receiving a 50%discount on 425 points resulting in 2 weeks for his hit on Ward and consequent concussion due to hard hit by Adelaide ovals turf. Ruling is tough to work out because Adelaide oval did not connect hard with any of the players receiving a concussion tests head.

We can expect from preceeding rulings anything from unsighted to a 10 week suspension.
Douglas was a dog act off the ball. Vineys was in the passage of play

Lynch ran into him. Viney just braced himself for the impact. Lynch should thank Viney for not killing him. Lynch should get 4 weeks for that if anything.

I am just not seeing this. I see Viney divert his path towards Lynch in the last moments. He is just moving towards the wide angle shot making it seem like he is not moving much. Lynch is moving towards the ball and gets first hands on. Viney made no effort to play the ball.

give it a rest you flog, Lynch had eyes for the footy, Viney had eyes for Lynch.

If jack Viney had chosen to bump not only would gergiou have a broken jaw but lynches head would have popped like a Brick in a watermelon
And he still would have jumped up picked up the ball and run off

I think it was Adelaide that dobbed Jake King in for a sling tackle that otherwise wouldn't have been looked at too.

No effort to play the ball? Ofcourse he was playing the ball (he had 3/10 of a second to realise Lynch was about to beat him so braced himself). He did win the hard ball after all didnt he? Yes Lynch got his hands on the ball first but I was not aware we had a first hands on rule in our game?

And divery his path? What by like 5 degrees? He was going for the ball like I said and where did the ball go? into Lynch's hands right? so I guess that answers some of your questions. The AFL can tell Champion Data to not keep stats of hard ball gets in the future if Viney gets weeks.

BTW, if Jack's last name was Ziebell, that's a 6 weeker easily.

Jack Viney is one of the toughest and fairest young players you WILL EVER SEE , Not for a second was he taking the cheap bump
I challenge you to watch this kid play and you will see that he is as footy focused a kid as there is out there and I see it as a disgrace that you are questioning whether he was going for the footy

Jack Viney plays they game exactly how it should be played and a suspension just rewarding playings who go in second even more
