Jack Watts
Jack is now entering his third season, but he was pretty young in his first two years. He has gained a lot of knowledge over the journey so far, and we just need to make sure Jack continues to train well and sticks to his routine. He needs to continue to prepare himself well with everything, including diet and sleep, so we can see the best of him in 2011.

So apparently we should be seeing the best of him in 2011, I don't have high expectations at what that will be though...

All these flogs getting on here bashing Jack Watts,take Jack Riewoldt as a test case!
He was drafted in 06 yet really did'nt blossom until this season (probably Richo retiring helped him) so its taken him four seasons to really 'breakout'!
JW has been in the AFL system for two years i count it as one as the first year was only on a part time basis due to school commitments!
As for 2011 i think we will see steady improvement people must remember that he has'nt even played 20 games yet plus still needs to physically mature this will take another 2-3 pre seasons to fill out to his ideal weight!
As for the OP saying Melbourne fans are saying he is ready to explode next season i have'nt heard it nor am i expecting it!

at the same age... Watts averaged 6 more disposals, more marks, more goal assists... but .2 less goals... he also played 7 more games in the corresponding season of age.... (ie. last season for watts and 07 for riewoldt)

even when compared with riewoldt a year older watts averages 2 more diposals, .3 less goals, more goal assists and almost equal marks

We have Jurrah who is the next Franklin, probably even better, Green, who is a 50+ goal a year player, Dunn, Moloney, Jamar, Trengove, Scully, Jones, all that are capable, and often do, kick 1-2 goals per game. That's the kind of gameplan Bailey has in place, and Port thrived with a similar plan under Williams in 2002-2004.

Comparing Jurranh to Franklin is madness. Completely different players. Actually the only similarity is that they are both Aboriginals.

I don't think any Dees supporters really expect next year to be Jack Watts breakout/best year. Certainly should improve, if he is going to be as good as they hope it will likely happen 2012-13 (also shoud coincide with Melbourne challenging for flags)

Also please stop comparing Naitanui's development with Watts, not similar in any way.
