what is inexcusable?? having legal fun? consensual fun? what part is the problem???
?? legal substance that anyone can buy at any time? having a drink? mucking around with women? what part is the bad part?? if it was coke sure! or if it wasnt consensual definitely.
people forget these guys are just boys or young young men with a lot of cash and a lot of free time.....

if its the worst thing that happens off field all year ill be stoked!

Watts will be 28 next month - hardly "just a boy" or "young young men". The guy is acting like a complete boofhead and needs to grow up.

Koch is 62 and is still acting like a boofhead. Didn't he give Ken another three year contract because of all the great recruits he was bringing in? We can trade in and out all the boofhead players we like, but it isn't going to matter whilst the club is run as a vapid pr machine by someone who should know better.

The whole “bad look” thing gets so overblown. Jack Watts likes lady bits and likes to go to parties. Stiff ****ing shit.

If anyone need feel any embarrassment it’s Jack Watts, and I’m sure he probably does, as you would if any personal material became public. He’s not a complete sociopath.
Not really sure why the rest of us should feel embarrassed.

Jack didn't ask for it to be recorded and released.
The guy was just having a good (and legal) time.
Not a great look, but perfectly fine. It was Oktoberfest, people get a touch tipsy (drunk) and carry on.
It was obviously never meant to be seen by all of Australia, but just the people that were there.
He'll learn from this though. What he did was fine, but he just needs to be more wary of who's around him and what they're doing (eg recording). It's hard to know exactly what's going on though when you've consumed many a frothy.

He’d probably be embarrassed about everyone seeing it, embarrassed about how the media are portraying him and the club would be embarrassed about the “bad PR”

But doubt he’d be embarrassed about what hes done as he really hasn’t done anything wrong (other then letting it be filmed) if that had been me doing that, or your average person no one bats an eyelid. Unfortunately AFL players are easy targets for the PC brigade and don’t get to live by the same rules as everyone else.

Maybe the club may hit him with a small fine or community work for the bad PR but absolutely nothing beyond that.

Koch just wants to be seen to be standing against this sort of thing (the good corporate citizen Shtick) while simultaneously pandering to the pro-crow audience on 5AA.
IF the riot act needs to be read it should be done behind closed doors by Keith Thomas, not via this public grandstanding nonsense of Koch.
A one-off public “we’ve spoken to Jack, he’s not happy, he’s embarrassed, and he’s dealing with it” statement would probably suffice.
