Most players get up to all sorts behind closed doors/in trusted sanctuary. The open secrets regarding certain SA superstars of a bygone era abound.

To have this surface off the back of the other thing is just daft.

Why the need to move the goalposts to talking about nudity and schoolgirls, why not just stick to what is being reported which at the end of the day is hardly newsworthy, just a fella having a bit of fun, meh.

To illustrate the definition of “legal fun” is incredibly broad against the behavioural code governing professional footballers as very public employees of their clubs, the league and defacto representatives of sponsors. And this is before we approach the ‘role model’ angle.

And that's exactly why we should look at this incident in isolation rather than bring in broader interpretations which can muddy opinions.
 
You can't suspend a player for 'optics'. They have to have done something wrong.

Follow the timing of the release. Why was it kept until now, when the club would have been setting up to play a certain way against Melbourne in R1?

There's no way in hell I'd be suspending him just for that reason. If it was released back in October when the first rounds of allegations were surfacing and the club wanted to make a statement about it, fine. It gives the coaching staff the ability to construct a system to combat the lack of Dixon without Watts being part of it.

The whole thing stinks. It's been released for maximum impact to our season rather than for any sort of concern about what Watts was actually doing. And that's why I'd ignore it and the media. **** em.
 
So according to the club it was October last year. The same time his text messages were sent out. If it’s proven that this footage was taken after that debacle then we might as well save everyone the time and hassle and release him now.
 
Seriously the media are just trying to make a story out absolutely nothing.
AFL player is a bit of a tool. Jeez news story of the year.
At least he didn’t do his shoulder. Guess he may have drowned in those ****.

When this was taken is in a way irrelevant. It’s again more bad PR for the club at a time we are looking for a major sponsor.

If it’s before he came to us, and fully legal sacking him would be difficult.

None the less he needs to be dragged in and be told in no uncertain terms no more of this shit, no more bad PR for the club and to pull his finger out. Be the player he should be and is capable off or you can go find a new club.
 
I love how we are such seasoned veterans in this shit that no one can even manage genuine anger, least of all a melt.

Going by what we've seen so far, i doubt this is the extent of it, there is no doubt significantly more issues that could arise considering everyone he knows seems to like throwing him under the bus and he's not afraid to take risks.

If this occurred a few months ago he has probably pulled his head in already. I sure am sick and tired of this negative press though.
