I had my doubts about him early last year until I saw him tear Collingwood a new one and practically win us the match in a qtr of football. I like the way he goes about his footy he was one of our best on the ground on Sunday and he always seems to piss the opposition off, they just want to smack the Ranga around for some reason

Anyway for my own ammusement I will keep a list of people who think he is crap and bring it out next year when you are all singing his praises. I would bet money everyone of these had Kel Moore written off last year too.

Too true Oxx - some people on here don't appreciate that. I think he is a keeper and worth a couple of years more at least.

may eventually not be best 22 but teams need guys putting pressure on the best 22 and he is that sort of guy. Could easily be with us until he is mid 20's before we need to consider if his spot is needed for a younger player.

If someone is on the fringe of selection then they should either have enormous potential (young) or be hard at it and still young.

But seriously guys (and girls), for all the bagging of a certain Greg Tivendale I have read on here over the last five years, Tivva is a far superior player to what Jackson will ever be.

There was a reason he too waas getting games on a regular basis pre-this year and Jackson wasn't!!!

With the pacy future ahead, I can definately see the benefits of a strong bodied bloke who loves a contest, much the same way Geelong value Max Rooke. Get the ball, crash a few packs, kick long... It is just a simple fact the Jackson has not shown enough to "cement his future" at our football club. He has a long way to go before he gets near that. He is still a depth player after 5 years. If two good games is all it takes to cement a future at RichmondFC for life we must be marching to the ****ing dungeon of the ladder again.

So learn to read and get your facts right you idiot.

He's pretty much on par with Polo. Played a similar % of games over 4-5 year period. Both have been a bit unlucky with selection playing decent senior games and getting dropped and both have had a few injuries along the way. The positives are enough for both players to say they should be regular senior players next year and beyond. I'm not too worried about jacko making the odd mistake because those mistakes will disappear from his game. Both players need a good long period in the seniors and should prove me right

Unfortunately apart from flashes of skill he still hasnt shown anywhere near enough to suggest he will make it. Hmmm nope no mention of a hack here infact I admit he can do decent plays but doesnt do it enough.

Can you please put me at the top of that list... l have a bet running with Tugga that Daniel Jackson wont play more than 82 games.

After we beat Collingwood last year and everyone starting pulling their puds over Jacko, l was happy to put my balls on the line and say he wont be around long term. He now has 45 games to his name.

I stand by my call, which means he would have to now have to get a contract past next year, possibly the year after.

NO HOPE... he'll be lucky to survive October.

What is that that the point is not, the point is Danial Jackson has ahellaofalotta flaws. He's a goer, but he lacks awareness and refuses to play first option footy which often sees him get tackled or disposed.

However because he is one of the few players who has a filled out body he can actually play in the middle and extract the ball. If Mark Coughlan gets back or if another inside mid develops, he will be one of the first in trouble

Jacko was only about 20 when Tivva was a regular. Jacko has plenty of improvement. Tivva got caught every time he was in traffic. At least jacko gets the ball out more often than not
