The Hilditch-Ponting era is over though, and i feel it's more about proven performance rather than reputation or experimentation these days.

AUSTRALIAN fast bowler Jackson Bird has suffered his second injury blow in the space of a year after succumbing to a back injury.
Bird will be unable to play at all for English county side Northamptonshire this season because of a the back problem, the English county confirmed on Monday.

Back gone agian, another 4 months out. Heard Patto pulled up pretty sore from the Cape Town test as well and will need to be monitored.

Looks like Siddle's test career might not be over yet.

Bad luck to the bloke, but this last part is a good thing. Siddle is a very good bowler.
